In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (the “ADA”), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Fair Housing Act, the University of Massachusetts Amherst is committed to providing appropriate access to all members of the University community, including those individuals who use Service Animals. Under the ADA, a Service Animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the Service Animal must be directly related to the person’s disability. In compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, reference herein to Service Animals includes Service Animals in training.
