Contract Type FiledSeptember 28th, 2015Most insurance plans only allow 30 days for members to enroll their newborn to the policy. Some employers will tell you that they cannot be added until you receive a birth certificate or social security card, but you will still need to notify the insurance company prior to receiving these documents. If you receive a bill after the first month, there is a possibility that there is a problem with your child being added to the insurance plan; or that they have been added to a plan that we DO NOT accept. If you have not received an insurance card within the first 2 months, that may also be a sign that something is wrong. Enrollment in a Health Plan is ultimately the responsibility of the patient and you will be held accountable for any balance resulting from failure to select a plan. Please help us make this a smooth transition to prevent you from owing a large balance for services rendered.
