Over thirty-three years after the Mann Corporation donated the core of the Fox Site to the City, seven formal RFPs, dozens of proposals, hundreds of ideas, two master planning processes, and after five years of negotiation, on February 22, 2017, the City, MRA, and Hotel Fox Partners, LLC executed the Fox Site Master Development Agreement. Over all those years, the Hotel Fox project vision grew from a hotel/restaurant/retail development on the Fox Site, that the MRA and City hoped would act as a catalyst for additional redevelopment of the nearby area, into an interrelated development of several city blocks. At the request of the City, the hotel facility grew to include a major new community resource in a conference center. (Land Use History and Fox Site Background documents are enclosed with this memorandum). At this time the project is ready to make the next big step to becoming a reality.
