The Withdrawal Agreement, which came into force on 31 January 2020, sets out the terms of the UK’s exit from the European Union. Part of this agreement sets out to preserve the rights of EEA citizens and their family members who are resident in the UK, or who are working in the UK but not primarily resident (known as frontier workers) before the end of the transition period.
