This Pooling and Servicing Agreement, effective as of May 1, 2006, among RESIDENTIAL ASSET SECURITIES CORPORATION, as the depositor (together with its permitted successors and assigns, the "Depositor"), RESIDENTIAL FUNDING CORPORATION, as master servicer (together with its permitted successors and assigns, the "Master Servicer"), and U.S. BANK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION, a banking association organized under the laws of the United States, as trustee (together with its permitted successors and assigns, the "Trustee"). PRELIMINARY STATEMENT: The Depositor intends to sell mortgage asset-backed pass-through certificates (collectively, the "Certificates"), to be issued hereunder in sixteen Classes, which in the aggregate will evidence the entire beneficial ownership interest in the Mortgage Loans (as defined herein) and certain other related assets.
