Dan Saxon is Assistant Professor of International Law at Leiden University College in The Hague. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1981, his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1988, and his LLM in international human rights law from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1995. For more than 25 years, Saxon has investigated and prosecuted serious international crimes and trained students and practitioners in the theory and practice of international criminal law and international humanitarian law. Saxon was a senior prosector at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia where he led investigations and prosecutions of persons accused of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws of war.
