Ying definition

Ying means English, and “Hua” means Chinese. Together, “YingHua” means blossom, the essence of a plant, which perfectly captures the essence of Chinese-English dual language schools like YHIS. On May 4, 2002, Dr. Bonnie Liao founded YingHua Language School (YHLS), a non- profit weekend-based Chinese language school that was the first in New Jersey to fully adopt “Ma Liping Approach,” a proven approach for Chinese language acquisition for heritage learners. YHLS was also the first community school in the U.S. that was accredited by The Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association (CSS-MSA).
