Common use of Worksite Closure Clause in Contracts

Worksite Closure. Where the Employer closes a worksite or discontinues a program, the Employer will consult with the Union. Following consultations, where the Employer offers positions to all or part of the staff affected, the following will apply: (1) Employees who accept a position and are placed in a lower classification will not have their salary reduced for a period of three months. (2) If the downward classification lasts longer than three months, no employee will suffer more than 10% reduction in their basic pay.
