Worksite Closure. Where the Employer closes a worksite or discontinues a program, the Employer will consult with the Union. Following consultation, where the Employer offers positions to all or part of the staff affected, the following shall apply: (a) Those employees who are offered positions shall not have access to Article 13 of this collective agreement. (b) Employees who accept a position and are placed in a lower classification shall not have their salary reduced for a period of three months. (c) If the downward classification lasts longer than three months, no employee shall suffer more than 10% reduction in their basic pay. (d) An employee who is classified downward as per (c) above shall be placed in the first vacancy available in his/her former classification, provided he/she has the necessary qualifications, prior to the application of the Recall provisions.
