WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE BOARD. 23.01 Where an employee is absent due to illness or injury which is compensable by Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, the following shall apply:
WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE BOARD. 14.01 The Employer agrees that it will continue to be enrolled under the provisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act of Ontario for all employees. The Employer will also pay an employee for the remainder of the shift in which the accident occurred that would require employee to take time off.

WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE BOARD a) In the event an injury is covered by payments from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, an Employee shall continue to receive regular pay during the first seventy-five (75) working days. Thereafter, the Employer shall maintain payments in the amount of the compensation coverage for a period not to exceed twenty-four (24) months and, in consideration of this continuation of pay, the Employee shall sign over all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board payments to the Employer.

Clause 14.01 (a) When a probationary or regular employee, through employment with the Employer, suffers an injury or disability, or a recurrence of an injury or disability, the Employer shall pay the employee an amount, when combined with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board payment, equals the employee’s regular wage less deductions required by law, for a period of nine (9) months from the first day of absence.

All employees shall be covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Act or shall be covered by a program that provides benefits that are as good or better. No employee shall have his employment terminated in violation of the above mentioned act and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
