Common use of Working on Holidays Clause in Contracts

Working on Holidays. An employee may be directed to work on a holiday or may request advance approval from the immediate supervisor to voluntarily work on a holiday. Any work on a day that is defined as a paid holiday by Section 84-1001 R.R.S. shall be compensated for by granting the employee compensatory time off or by paying the employee. Nonexempt employees shall be compensated per Section 8.2E. Exempt employees shall be compensated at straight time. The method of compensation for the holiday worked shall be at the discretion of the Agency. If compensatory time off is granted, the employee shall determine when such time shall be taken, subject to Section 8.2B.
