WORKING CONDITIONS. A. The 26.01 All full-time classroom teachers' workday , including Special Education (including Resource and ABLE) who deliver credits, will be assigned time-tabled duties consisting of credit courses, credit -equivalent courses, TAP, worked on-calls, supervision, and remedial time to reach a 6.67 eligible program workload as defined in the Regulations made under the Education Act. Duties will be assigned as set out in Schedule A: Workload Assignments. 26.02 Notwithstanding Article 26.01, Full-time Library, Guidance, Co-op and Special Education Teachers who do not deliver credits may be fully assigned to their areas. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. 14.1 Morning duty, Recess duty, and any other non-classroom duties which are necessary for maintaining a well run school and assuring the safety of the students will be considered part of the regular work day for teachers. Before August 15 the Building Principals shall meet with the President of the Association or his/her designee to discuss the proposed duty schedule for the coming school year. All non-classroom duties will be assigned fairly as is practicable by the administration, among the teachers assigned to each building as scheduling permits. Teachers will be notified of any permanent, non-emergency change to the duty schedule during the school year at least five (5) days in advance. Teachers whose teaching assignments are in more than one building shall not be assigned duties. 14.2 The teachers' “normal” on-site workday for members shall begin fifteen (15) minutes prior to the beginning of the student day until fifteen (15) minutes after the close of the student day as set forth by board Policy for the 2002-2003 school year. When the opening of school is delayed due to inclement weather, paraprofessionals and secretarial bargaining unit members shall be allowed to come in to work at their normal start time, or permitted to come in at the same time as students. When school is closed early due to inclement weather, bargaining unit members shall be allowed to stay until their normal end time, or leave after student dismissal. Paraprofessional and secretarial bargaining unit members shall be paid for hours actually worked on such days. Other bargaining unit employees shall be required to work their normal shifts on such dates. 6. Bargaining unit members assigned to cover a position with a higher hourly wage shall receive the higher rate of pay for the time worked in that position when they work for more than two (JPS2) consecutive hours. 7. Employees who job share shall split the paid leave on a pro-rata basis, provided that all job share arrangements require the Superintendent’s approval. 8. Night Shift custodians shall be granted a paid ½ hour supper break as long as they remain on campus. If a night shift custodian chooses to leave the campus, they must mark the time on their time sheet. Upon return they shall complete the remainder of their shift so that on campus time equals eight (e.8) hours. 9. Custodians and other 12 month employees who come to work when school is cancelled due to weather conditions shall work until they complete their normal shift unless the Superintendent/Principal makes a decision that conditions pose a safety hazard to return to home. In the case when the Governor announces a state of emergency, all employees shall be required to leave the building and return to home.

WORKING CONDITIONS. A. The teachers' workday (a) A preparation time period shall be of the same duration as a class period with eight class periods constituting one (1) school day. For teachers working with pupils below the Grade 1 level, preparation time and duties will be as equitable as possible with other HATA members in total time, and if necessary, an allotted preparation period can be divided into two equal sessions. (b) A full-time teacher shall be entitled to six (6) periods for preparation time in each week. (c) A half-time teacher shall be entitled to three (3) periods for preparation in each week. (d) A part-time teacher shall be entitled to the number of preparation time periods obtained by dividing the number of periods worked by forty (40) and multiplying by six (6), rounded down, for preparation time within the periods that they worked in each week. (e) Notwithstanding the above, the Board, in its discretion, and solely for the purposes of scheduling the teaching day, shall be entitled to reduce the total preparation time periods allocated above to a teacher from the number of such periods as set out above by one (1) such period in each week. (f) The Board shall use its best efforts not to reduce preparation time periods. (g) The Board shall not use Article 19.01 to eliminate or add any teaching position. (h) A part-time teacher, with the approval of the Head of School/Principal/Vice- Principal, can take preparation time periods at any place other than The Ottaw Jewish Community School. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. 19.02 Each full-time teacher is entitled to a daily uninterrupted lunch period similar to that of the pupils of the school, save and except for an emergency situation, which situation shall be determined solely by the Head of School/Principal/Vice-Principal. 19.03 Teachers are entitled to any and all uninterrupted recesses enjoyed by their respective pupils, save for duty and save and except for an emergency situation, which situation shall be determined solely by the Head of School/ Principal/Vice-Principal. 19.04 When a teacher has a period of time for preparation during his teaching schedule, he may, if requested to do so by the Head of School/Principal/Vice-Principal, substitute teach for that period of time in accordance with the rate paid to occasional teachers. A teacher shall have the option of refusing to substitute teach during the period of time for preparation, and shall not be required to substitute teach against his wishes, save and except for an emergency situation, which situation shall be determined solely by the Head of School/Principal/Vice-Principal. 19.05 The Ottawa Jewish Community School recognizes the need to employ a Judaic Studies occasional teacher in the event of any temporary absence from teaching duties of a Judaic Studies teacher and the need to employ an occasional general studies teacher in the event of a temporary absence from teaching duties of a general studies teacher. The Ottawa Jewish Community School will make a reasonable effort to employ occasional teachers in accordance with the aforesaid recognized need. 19.06 The Board shall allocate non-classroom duties in such manner that the various supervisory duties needed for the efficient operation of the school are shared as equally as possible by all the teachers in the school. (a) For all half-time teachers hired after June 30, 2011, subject to sub-paragraph 19.07(e) below, classroom duties will consist of a consecutive period of three hours per and ten minutes. (b) For all half-time teachers hired prior to June 30, 2011, subject to sub-paragraph 19.07(e) below, classroom duties will begin each day at 8:45 a.m. or 12:50 p.m., as the case may be, and will end at 11:55 a.m. or 3:45 p.m., as the case may be. Upon the mutual agreement of the half-time teacher and the Head of School, classroom duties could be set out in 19.07 (2,250 a). WORKING CONDITIONS. A. 15.1 Morning duty, Recess duty, and any other non-classroom duties which are necessary for maintaining a well-run school and assuring the safety of the students will be considered part of the regular work day for teachers. Before August 15 the Building Principals shall meet with the President of the Association or his/her designee to discuss the proposed duty schedule for the coming school year. All non-classroom duties will be assigned fairly as is practicable by the administration, among the teachers assigned to each building as scheduling permits. Teachers will be notified of any permanent, non-emergency change to the duty schedule during the school year at least five (5) days in advance. Teachers whose teaching assignments are in more than one building shall not be assigned duties. 15.2 The teachers' "normal" on-site workday for members shall begin fifteen (15) minutes prior to the beginning of the student day until fifteen (15) minutes after the close of the student day as set forth by board Policy for the 2002-2003 school year. While all teachers are expected on occasion to carry on on-site obligations outside the normal workday, it is understood that these occasions will not be so frequent as to be considered part of the usual daily routine. WORKING CONDITIONS. 4.1 The length of the normal workday for all Teachers shall be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Teachers in stipend positions (e.g., coaching school athletics programs or sponsoring activities or clubs) will be permitted to leave campus with administrative approval prior to 3:30 in order to fulfill the duties of those positions without penalty or loss of stipend monies. The Administration shall provide a minimum of two hundred twenty-five (225) minutes per five-(5) day work week of planning time for each full-time and itinerant Teacher. Such plan time shall be provided in a daily block of no less than 25 continuous minutes, Subject and Grade level teachers will have a minimum common plan time 1 or 2 times a week. Every teacher shall be entitled to a duty free lunch period equivalent to the regular school lunch period but in any event no less than 30 consecutive minutes per day. 4.2 Students will be dismissed early four (4) days per month for faculty meetings (1 Faculty Meeting, 1 Committee Meeting, and two (2) Departmental Meetings). The departmental meeting agendas shall be at the discretion of the Association, and the faculty meeting agenda and committee meeting agenda shall be at the discretion of the Administration. 4.3 When a Teacher feels that he or she absolutely must be absent from the school during working hours for a period of time during a school day, the Teacher must notify the office and state in writing the time or the period of absence. 4.4 The Administration or its designee will be responsible for assigning substitutes for all full-time Teachers. It is understood that it is the responsibility of the Teacher, or their designee, to inform the Administration, or its designee, if at all possible no later than 6:30 a.m. the day of the absence or as soon thereafter as practicable when the employee knows he/she will not be able to report to work. Internal substitution may be utilized when warranted and auxiliary personnel may be used as substitute teachers in emergency situations only. A licensed employee who substitutes, voluntarily or involuntarily, during their own non-class time, or takes 50% or more of another teacher's homeroom, shall be compensated at the rate of $30.00 per hour. This rate shall be paid in increments of 15 minutes. 4.5 In lieu of homeroom assignments, Teachers may be assigned other school responsibilities without additional pay. Every effort will be made to relieve Teachers of lunch playground duty. 4.6 Teachers shall be paid on a twelve (12) month basis twice a month. Pay days shall be on the fifteenth (15th) and the thirtieth (30th) of each month or on the Friday immediately preceding the payday if it shall fall on Saturday or Sunday. The first payment for a given school year shall be made in September of that year. The number of sections per 5- day workweekgrade level will be kept as equal as possible in each department (i.e. Primary, Intermediate, Jr. High). A student requiring extra attention due to his/her special needs could be weighted as more than one student. Other experimental programs that may be developed could result in having a lower class size. a. For full time teachers4.9 Notification of assignment: Teachers will be assigned teaching duties no later than two weeks before the beginning of the school year. 4.10 Seniority, planning time Reduction in Force and Recall A. Seniority: Administration shall maintain and annually update a Seniority List reflecting the length of continuing service of each teacher to the District. Length of service begins with the initial date of work as a permanent employee and includes all work days in which the teacher is present, on paid leave, or on unpaid Family and Medical leave. If two or more teachers have the same amount of teaching experience in the District, the Teacher with the most years of teaching experience at any public school in Illinois shall be neither less than 200 minutes nor more than 300 minutes per regular 5-day workweek. b. Planning time shall be directed by the bargaining unit member to plan classroom lessons/programs, collaborate with colleagues, review student work, meet with students, and communicate/meet with parents. c. Subject to the provisions herein, planning time shall include deemed most senior. If a continuous block of time of no fewer than 40 minutes which shall be scheduled on at least 4 days during a regular 5-day workweek with the balance of such planning time scheduled during the remainder of the workweek. d. If directed by the principal/designeetie still exists, the teacher with the highest college degree plus credit hours will be deemed most senior. Reduction in Force: When the Board of Education deems it necessary to reduce the number of certified staff in the District because of reasons such as declining enrollments, inadequate finances, the elimination of programs, or other assigned work (including meetings called by the principal/designee) during the member’s planning time and consolidation, every effort will be made to make reductions through attrition. If this is not possible, then reductions shall be compensated in accordance with Section I. 24-12(b) of Article 13. e. Planning time may the Illinois School Code. To prepare the list, lockdownsthe administration shall provide each teacher with a verification sheet listing the teacher’s seniority date, fire drillsratings of the last three evaluations and all the subjects for which the teacher is licensed and qualified to teach as of May 10 of the prior school year. Each teacher will have ten (10) calendar days to challenge the accuracy of any of the information on the verification sheet. The District will correct any errors and provide the Association President with a corrected copy of the Honorable Dismissal list. A joint District-Association Committee on Honorable Dismissals shall meet annually by December 1 and, assemblies, and other incidental interruptions consistent with the limitations set forth in the regular workday school code, shall consider alternative definitions for placement of teachers in Group 3 and Group 4 and whether PERA evaluations issued by another school district will be considered in determining a teacher’s Group placement for honorable dismissals. The joint committee shall be comprised of an equal number of District representatives and Association representatives, with each party appointing its own representatives to the committee. The joint committee must reach agreement, by majority vote, on or workweek. f. Planning time shall before February 1 of a school year in order for the agreement to apply to the sequence of dismissal determined during that school year. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. Section 1: The teachers' workday following schedules shall be adopted for the duration of this Agreement. However, should adjustments be necessary to accommodate changes in bus schedules, etc. the teacher's total work day will not exceed 7 hours per day (2,250 and 45 minutes per regular 5-day workweek), which shall include a 30-minute block of time per day for including the duty-free lunchlunch period as specified in Section 4 unless modified by the Conference Committee referred to in this Agreement. B. Instructional time Section 2: On the last day of any school week, or any day a teacher is required to return for an evening meeting or other duties, teachers will remain on duty for ten (i.e. instructing students10) minutes after the conclusion of the instructional day. Section 3: Unassigned preparation periods shall be as follows: a) Each day, Tuesday through Friday, senior high school teachers (9-12) shall not exceed 1,500 have one (1) unassigned preparation period during the student day equal in length to a regular teaching block. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. Section A - School Calendar At least two weeks before action is taken, the Board and/or its designated representatives will consult with representatives of the Association with regard to the school calendar for the following year. Such action will normally be taken at the December meeting. The teachers' workday calendar shall be attached annually as an appendix to the agreement. The actual number of school days, exclusive of holidays, shall not be less than required by state law. The schools shall be closed on all legal school holidays and on such other days determined by the Board. Secondary guidance counselors, pupil personnel services, and staff on extended contract shall be paid their per diem salaries for days worked in advance of or following the regular work year, if they are so requested to work by the principal or other appropriate administrator. Two days of student screening may be utilized by the kindergarten teachers prior to the school year, paid at per diem at the discretion of individual kindergarten teachers. In the event the Board should decide to revise the current school schedule, the parties agree to negotiate the impact of that decision (if any) on wages, hours per day (2,250 minutes per regular 5-day workweek), which shall include a 30-minute block of time per day for duty-free lunchor working conditions. The parties recognize that any such negotiations may result in agreements that require ratification by either or both parties. B. Instructional time (i.e. instructing students) shall not exceed 1,500 minutes per regular 5Section B - Teachers' Work Day 1. High School Work Day A seven-period teacher work day workweek. Assigned tutoring responsibilities, excluding Advisory assignments will be implemented at the middle high school in accordance with the following provisions: a. The parties agree to maintain a High School Leadership Team to make recommendations to the Board of Education and Academy assignments RIEA regarding the implementation of a teacher workday at the high school, which consists of five pupil contact periods effective the 2002-03 school year. The recommendation shall reflect the consensus of the RIEA and Board representatives on the Team. The five pupil contact periods may occur in the context of a seven-period or six- period day for students. In either case, the total teacher workday shall not exceed seven hours and forty minutes and teachers shall receive at least one preparation period. In addition, the Team shall attempt to construct a teacher workday, which provides for an average of 280 to 300 minutes of pupil contact per day. Further, the Team will consider such other areas as graduation credits, flexible scheduling, best practices training, teacher mentoring programs, and expanded vocational curriculum. The Team will collect and maintain such data as student attendance, discipline rates, test scores, graduation/dropout rate and class failure rate. All teachers shall be required to work a seven-period day including five (5) pupil contact assignments and two (2) non-pupil contact periods; provided that the Board may assign up to 25 minutes of one non-pupil contact period each semester as a student advisory. The number of students assigned to a teacher in an advisory shall be counted for purposes of the cap in sub-paragraph (b). For the existing seven period day, one of the preparation periods per week may be used for non-instructional preparation as assigned by administration including: team meetings and staff development. In addition, one period in-building supervision per week may be assigned. This supervision schedule will be considered instructional time for the purposes jointly planned by administration and a sub-group of Section C. of this Article. C. Planning time shall not be less than 20% of the teacher's assigned instructional time per 5- day workweek. a. For full time teachers, planning time shall be neither less than 200 minutes nor more than 300 minutes per regular 5-day workweekFocus Team One. b. If directed by the principal/designee2016-2017 school year, the teacher shall perform "spot sub" duty or other teachers who are assigned work (including meetings called by the principal/designee) during the member’s planning time and a total student load exceeding 165 students shall be compensated in accordance the following manner at the end of the semester based on three-week increments ($3,449 stipend / 2 (half of overload pay) = $1,724.50 / 6 (three-week sessions) = $287.42 each). Teachers will be paid $287.42 each three-week session that is over the 165 cap for that period of time. The Administration and Instructional Leaders will notify teachers that have been involuntarily assigned to over 165 students. At no time shall the total load exceed 180 students. Teachers who are requested and agree to teach six (6) pupil contact periods when otherwise scheduled for five (5) will be paid a stipend of three thousand four hundred and forty-nine ($3,449) dollars per semester, this stipend will increase each contract year by the annual salary increase beginning with Section I. the 2018-2019 school year (i.e. 2% for 2018-19). Teachers who are requested and agree to assume a sixth (6th) period assignment which does not require a preparation for when otherwise scheduled for five (5) will be paid a stipend of Article 13. e. Planning time one thousand seven hundred twenty four dollars and fifty cents ($1724.50) per semester, this stipend will increase each contract year by the annual salary increase beginning with the 2018-19 school year (i.e. 2% for 2018-19). Work assignments relating (i) The administration shall post sixth (6th) assignment opportunities in the faculty lounge and by announcement in the high school bulletin; (ii) The sixth (6th) assignment shall be given to the ▇▇▇ teacher who volunteers provided that the teacher has taught in the affected department within the last seven years and has received at least a satisfactory rating for his/her most recent evaluation; (iii) If there is no eligible volunteer, the administration may involuntarily assign a teacher provided that any such teacher may only be involuntarily assigned for two consecutive semesters; (iv) A teacher receiving a sixth (6th) assignment under this sub-paragraph will receive the stipend provided for in "b." above. d. The regular high school work day shall not exceed seven (7) hours and forty (40) minutes. 2. In the event classes are scheduled prior to the regular school day, they will be one regular period in length. 3. Teachers other than at the senior high school, the Pre-Kindergarten Program, and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Special Needs Scholarship Program Center/alternative program shall report to school a half-hour before their first scheduled assigned duty begins and devote their school hours exclusively to school work. They shall remain in the building for at least thirty minutes after dismissal time to be available to their students and for other professional work. Teachers at the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Center/alternative program shall work sixty (JPS60) minutes before and/or after the student day. The schedule for the staff will be determined by the Administrator and staff. (e.For example, a staff member, upon agreement with the administrator, may come in fifteen (15) minutes before the start of the student day and remain forty-five (45) minutes beyond the student day.) This time shall be devoted to school work and be available to their students and for other professional work. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. The teachers' workday Punctuality is one ▇▇▇▇ of a professional teacher. Teachers shall use the school day for planning, preparing, and executing their teaching assignments. Proper planning with detailed lesson plans shall be 7½ hours per day evident at all times and available to the Building Principals. B. Certified teachers shall receive one (2,250 minutes per regular 5-day workweek), which shall include a 30-minute block of time 1) class period per day for duty-free lunchplanning, as the schedule allows. B. Instructional C. The teacher work day will be seven hours and forty minutes which will include at least a forty minute lunch period. Nothing in this article infringes on the right of the administration to schedule staff meetings in excess of time limitations. D. Teachers will have a duty free lunch period as prescribed by the Illinois School Code. Teachers will be permitted to leave school during the lunch period upon notification to the office of the Building Principal prior to leaving the building. E. The Board, with respect to all board meetings, will provide one copy of the board packet to each BVEA building representative prior to the board meeting. The packet shall include the agenda, minutes of previous board meeting, Superintendent's Report, and a listing of the bills paid by the Board at its previous board meeting. F. Certified and Non-certified positions that are newly created or become open because of resignation, death, retirement, vacancies caused by transfers or failure to reappoint will be publicized to the staff via e-mail by the superintendent and/or designee. The position will not be filled for at least five (5) calendar days after notification. G. A Special Education Work Load Committee will be comprised of one special education rep from middle school, one special education rep from the elementary school, and one administrator. We will create a Workload Help Request Form that will address all of the domains listed below. Anytime a special education teacher has a concern in one of those areas, he or she will submit the form (the form will be sent to the members of the Workload Committee). The committee will meet to discuss the concern and proceed as needed. This will eliminate the gathering of unneeded data; we will only address viable concerns as they come up. The Committee shall meet regularly to consider the activities for which the District’s special educators are responsible, including but not limited to: 1. Individualized instruction; 2. Consultative services and other collaboration among staff members; 3. Attendance at IEP meetings and other staff conferences; 4. Paperwork and reporting. 5. Caseload size/classroom size H. SPECIAL EDUCATION PLANNING: With administrative approval, teachers who are required to write IEPs will receive the following times listed below. Planning sessions are to be held on school grounds. All IEP leave days must be requested no later than two (2) school days prior to the requested day. 1. One hour of IEP writing leave time per each student on a primary caseload (i.e. instructing students) 8 IEPs = 1 day; 12 IEPs = 1 ½ days, etc.). (These preparation days can be taken in ½ day increments.) 2. One quarter hour per each student on a related service caseload (i.e. 32 IEPs with related services = 1 day). 3. The number of days taken for IEP preparations shall not exceed 1,500 minutes per regular 5-day workweek. Assigned tutoring responsibilities, excluding Advisory assignments 2 days. I. All support personnel with less than twelve (12) months of service shall be deemed probationary and may be relieved of their duties at the middle school discretion of the Superintendent and Academy assignments at Board of Education. J. For support staff, discipline shall include oral warning, written warning, suspension without pay and termination. No employee shall be suspended without pay or terminated without just cause. It shall be the high schoolresponsibility of the building principal or immediate supervisor to bring to the attention of the employee deficiencies in the employee’s work program or performance of assigned work, and when the matter is an oral or written reprimand, to make a record of the same in writing. One copy of said record is to be provided to the employee. Disciplinary action will be considered instructional time progressive, except for gross misconduct in accordance with the following schedule: i Verbal Warning ii Written Warning iii One to five day suspension without pay iv Termination K. Fair Share Fee Payers 1. All employees covered by this Agreement who are not members of the Union, and so long as they remain non-members of the Union, shall pay to the Union each month their fair share of the costs of the services rendered by the Union that are chargeable to non-members under state and federal law. 2. Such non-member fair share payment that has been documented to the Board shall be deducted from the earnings of the non-member employees and remitted to the Union in conformity with state law and Labor Board rules. 3. The Board shall cooperate with the Union by providing the names of all employee non-members of the Union from whose earnings the fair share payments shall be deducted, their work locations and provide space to post a notice concerning fair share. 4. The Union shall cause to be posted a notice concerning the fair share fee information that is permitted by the Labor Relations Act and required by Board rules. 5. Upon adoption of any Union procedure, the Union shall supply the Board with a copy. In addition, the Union shall advise the Board of subsequent changes. 6. Upon receipt of formal notice of an objection or unfair labor practice charge to the Labor Board, the Union and the Board agree to comply with the provisions of the Labor Relations Act. The Board shall forward the objector’s fee or portion of the objector’s fee being contested to the Labor Board to be placed in an escrow account pending settlement of the question. 7. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. The teachers' workday 16.01 Time for which DECEs are paid outside of the instructional day where DECEs are not on scheduled breaks or engaged in scheduled supervision shall be used for professional activities related to the Early Learning Program. 16.02 Each full-time DECE shall be entitled to a scheduled time period of thirty (30) consecutive minutes each day for an unpaid lunch break, free from assigned duties. 16.03 Each full-time DECE shall be entitled to the equivalent of two (2) fifteen (15) minute paid breaks for each working day. The general intent of the Board is to schedule all breaks outside of instructional time and the Board will endeavor to schedule in this way. However, there are circumstances where it may not be possible and the Board will advise the union of its rationale in these circumstances. 16.04 The working year shall be the school year as approved by the Ministry of Education including all professional activity days. 16.05 The scheduled working day for all permanent DECEs will consist of seven (7) hours per day day, thirty-five (2,250 minutes 35) hours per regular 5-day workweek), which shall include a 30-minute block of time per week. The scheduled working day for duty-free luncha daily occasional DECE will consist of a maximum of 6.5 hours per day. B. Instructional 16.06 DECEs are expected by the Board to work in excess of their regular scheduled day for the fall open house and spring orientation night. In recognition of this, lieu time shall be granted in blocks of one-half (i.e. instructing 1/2) day for each event or one full day for both events. This lieu time will be taken on Board designated days during the school year. The Board will designate two (2) days for this purpose throughout the year from November to June. Lieu time will not be carried over from year to year. Where a DECE has been requested and pre-authorized by the Principal to attend scheduled meetings (eg. meetings with outside agencies) that cannot be scheduled within the regular scheduled working day during the school year, the DECE will be paid at straight time from the school’s budget. 16.07 The Board shall reimburse a DECE in accordance with the Board’s Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy for any courses, conferences or workshops attended by the DECE at the request of the Board. 16.08 DECEs required to travel on Board business will be paid in accordance with the Board’s Mileage Reimbursement Procedure. 16.09 DECEs may participate in extra-curricular activities on a voluntary basis. 16.10 A DECE may be expected to participate in the supervision of students no more than two hundred and forty (240) minutes/week. Duties will be assigned in a fair and equitable manner amongst all DECE staff. It is understood that such duties are considered part of the workday. In the event that the Board requires additional supervision time to be performed by a DECE, the Board and the Union agree to meet to discuss the supervision schedule to deal with the circumstances at that location. Any duty assigned before the school bell, after the school bell and/or during nutrition breaks (regardless of the activities of the students) shall not exceed 1,500 minutes per regular 5-day workweek. Assigned tutoring responsibilities, excluding Advisory assignments at the middle school and Academy assignments at the high school, will be considered instructional time counted towards the total supervision minutes for the purposes of Section C. of this Articleweek. Planning time 16.11 In the event of a medical emergency, a DECE will perform such procedures to the best of their ability as are necessary for the safety and well being of the child. No DECE, however, is required to carry out medical/physical procedures as part of his/her regular duties. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. Workweek and Workday The teachers' workday normal workweek (Monday through Friday) of employees shall be forty (40) hours per day (2,250 minutes per regular 5-day workweek)a week, which shall include including a 30-minute block of time per day for duty-free lunch. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. WORKING CONDITIONS. A. The teachers' workday (a) A preparation time period shall be 7½ hours per of the same duration as a class period with eight class periods constituting one (1) school day. For teachers working with pupils below the Grade 1 level, preparation time and duties will be as equitable as possible with other HATA members in total time, and if necessary, an allotted preparation period can be divided into two equal sessions. (b) A full-time teacher shall be entitled to six (6) periods for preparation time in each week. (c) A half-time teacher shall be entitled to three (3) periods for preparation in each week. WORKING CONDITIONS. A.
