Common use of WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS Clause in Contracts

WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS. (a) When an employee is unable to work as a result of an injury and/or illness incurred in the course of the employee's duties, the employee shall immediately inform the Employer so that a claim for Workers Compensation Benefits can be forwarded to the Workers Compensation Board. Any information required by the Workers Compensation Board from the Employer shall be provided within a reasonable period of time. (b) Any employee who suffers an injury and/or illness which qualifies for Workers Compensation benefits shall be paid by the Employer for the hours they would otherwise have been scheduled to work on the day of the injury and/or illness, but was unable to work because of the injury and/or illness. (c) The payment provided for under sub-section 25.01 (b) does not affect the number of hours of sick leave to which an employee is entitled. (d) The Employer shall provide a “worker’s claim” form to any employee who requests it.
