Work Related Requirements. Essential Selection Criteria Recognised qualifications in clinical coding or equivalent competency both supported by comprehensive experience in clinical coding with working knowledge of Activity Based Funding and Diagnosis Related Groups in a tertiary or large secondary hospital. Experience in quality assurance/quality improvement principals and in their practical application Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills. Highly developed organisational, written, verbal, interpersonal and negotiation skills together with the ability to gain the cooperation of others to achieve objectives and to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical coding, casemix and the relationship with data quality assurance processes. Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
