Common use of Work on a Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Holiday. Employees who are required to work on recognized holidays shall be entitled to the holiday pay as provided for by Section 3 of this Article plus compensatory time off or cash for all such time worked at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2). The rate at which an employee shall be compensated for working on a holiday shall not exceed the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) in addition to holiday pay. An employee will receive compensatory time off for holiday time worked unless the employee requests, in writing, cash, within budgetary constraints, with notice to the Union. The compensatory time accrual limits established in Article 38, Scheduling Compensatory Time Off, shall apply.
