Work on a Designated Paid Holiday. 26.05 - When an employee is required to work on a designated paid holiday, he shall be granted a day of leave at a later date as a substitute for the designated holiday at a time mutually agreed by the Employer and the employee. In addition to compensation already received for the paid designated holiday, the employee shall also receive compensation for all hours worked on that day.

Work on a Designated Paid Holiday. When a part-time employee is required to work on a day which is prescribed as a designated paid holiday for a full-time employee in clause 20.01 of this agreement, this employee shall be paid one and one-half (1 ½) of the straight-time rate of pay for all hours worked up to seven (7) hours and double (2) time thereafter in addition to the pay he would have been granted, had he not worked on the holiday. A part-time employee who reports for work as directed on a day which is prescribed as a designated paid holiday for an employee normally working thirty-five (35) hours a week, as per clause 20.01 of this agreement, shall be paid for the time actually worked, or a minimum of three (3) hours' pay at the straight-time rate, whichever is greater.
Work on a Designated Paid Holiday. If an Employee is required to work on a holiday, two (2) days of leave with pay may be taken at a later time at the Employee’s discretion. This will not apply in the case of pre-approved substitutions agreed at the request of an Employee as per Article 20.02.

  • DESIGNATED PAID HOLIDAYS 11.01 Subject to clause 11.02, the following days shall be designated paid holidays for employees:

  • Work on a Holiday If an employee works on an approved holiday, in addition to their holiday pay, they will be compensated at the rate of two (2) times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked on the holiday.

If an employee is required to work on any of the holidays set out in the local Appendix the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • PAID HOLIDAYS 12.01 (a) A full-time employee who otherwise qualifies hereunder shall receive the following paid holidays: New Year's Day (Jan. 1st) Labour Day 3rd Monday in February Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day (Nov.11th) Good Friday Christmas Day (Dec. 25th) Victoria Day Boxing Day (Dec. 26th) Canada Day (July 1st) Civic Holiday

  • Working on a Holiday An employee who is required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of straight time plus time and one-half (1 1/2).

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess of his regularly scheduled hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

  • Work on Holidays Employees who work on the following holidays: New Years Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the employees regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday. For purposes of this Agreement, the holiday shall begin at 11:00 p.m. on the day preceding the holiday and will end at 11:30 p.m. on the day of the holiday. Hours worked on a holiday that are into overtime will be paid at time and a half rather than straight time.
