WORK DAY AND WORK YEAR. The length of the work year shall be one hundred and eighty four (184) days or two hundred and twenty three (223) days, depending on county, state, and/or federal program requirements and needs. For full day 10-month (184 day) or 12-month (223 day) teachers, the work week shall consist of 5 consecutive days, working 8 hours per day and additional time for an unpaid, minimum 30-minute, duty free lunch. For part-time 10-month (184 day) teachers, the work week shall consist of 5 consecutive days of 4 hours per day.

Title 1 Paraprofessionals shall work student contact days and one (1) additional day as designated by the Title 1 Director. With the approval of the building principal, an Instructional Staff Assistant’s work schedule may be constructed such that the schedule results in a regular four (4)-day work week. Media Assistants working at the elementary buildings shall be employed for not less than six (6) hours per day and in secondary buildings for not less than three (3) hours per day. A full work day shall consist of the hours shown below for the following classifications: for Alternative Education Assistants -- 6.0 hrs; for Kindergarten Lead Paraprofessionals -- 7.5 hrs; beginning with the 2010-11 school year, Kindergarten Enrichment/Classroom Assistants -- 6.75 hrs; for Title 1 Paraprofessionals -- 7.0 hrs.
