Withdrawal from Residence Clause Samples
The 'Withdrawal from Residence' clause outlines the conditions and procedures under which a resident may voluntarily leave or withdraw from a housing arrangement, such as a dormitory or leased apartment. Typically, this clause specifies the required notice period, any financial obligations like forfeiture of deposits or payment of remaining rent, and the steps the resident must follow to formally notify the housing provider. Its core practical function is to provide a clear process for ending the residential agreement early, thereby protecting both the resident and the provider from misunderstandings or disputes regarding departure.
Withdrawal from Residence. If a Resident chooses to withdraw from the Residence for any reason, a $650 withdrawal fee is charged for early termination of this Agreement. In addition, the Resident is responsible for the period in which they occupied the Room at a pro-rated cost. All requests for withdrawal must be submitted in writing to Student Housing & Residence Life a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the date of departure. Failure to do so will result in a $600 administrative fee as outlined in Section 5.5.
