Welders certificate allowance Employees who hold or obtain a DLI Welder's Certificate/s and use such certificate/s in connection with their employment, shall be paid an allowance of $5.00 per week for each certificate to a maximum of three. Once payment has been made for using such certificate/s, such payment will continue, regardless of whether the certificate/s is/are being used or not. Separate payment for certificate/s will cease if the employee is transferred to the equivalent of a higher classification i.e. payment shall not be made twice, through a new designation level and this allowance.
Welders. 19.01 All Pipe Welders employed in connection with the installation of work under the terms of this Agreement shall be members of Local Union 324 and provide proof of their competency; this is not to include Welders who might be employed for short periods on alterations, repairs or temporary work -- short periods not to exceed eight (8) hours on any one (1) job on alterations, repairs or temporary work.
Welders. The Employer shall provide welding helmets, welding goggles and welding gloves when necessary. The Employer may deduct from an Employee's wages the cost of any item which is not returned to the Employer. (a) Welders shall be classed as Journeymen and shall receive Journeymen’s wages except those Welders who, in the shop, weld on assembly work and/or weld for a Journeyman who does the fitting in preparation for the weld or who completes the weld. Such Welders shall receive as wages not less than eighty-five percent (85%) of the Journeyman’s rate of pay.
Welders. Employees’ maintaining a current welding certification shall receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour for all time engaged in certified welding.

Welders. Welder Level 3 – A welder with two (2) or more years experience in a manufacturing or welding shop who is able to obtain and maintain a minimum welding certification in Flat – GMAW. Welder Level 2 – A welder with at least one (1) year experience in a manufacturing or welding shop who is able to obtain and maintain a minimum welding certification in Flat – GMAW.
