Weekend Schedules. The Medical Center will continue its current policy of scheduling every other weekend off for Full-Time and Part-Time Nurses unless a nurse agrees voluntarily to work more frequent weekends in writing. (e.g., by using the alternate schedule forms or by the nurse entering his or her own schedule preferences in Kronos). Nurses will not be scheduled for consecutive weekends without their consent. If the Medical Center determines based on operational and patient care needs (provided that such discretion is not exercised arbitrarily), that weekend work can be less frequent than every other weekend, such schedules are permitted by this Agreement. If the Medical Center determines that there can be less frequent weekend work, preference for such reduced weekend work will be offered on a bargaining unit seniority basis, to the extent reasonably feasible.

Weekend Schedules. Nurses will be granted at least every other 4 weekend off. This requirement may be waived on the request of an individual nurse 5 and with the agreement of the nurse's supervisor. Such request for waiver will be in 6 writing and will indicate the time period in which such waiver will be in effect. RRMC will 7 furnish a copy of such written waiver to the nurse representative designated by the 8 Association for such purpose. A nurse who works on a non-scheduled weekend at the 9 request of management will be paid at one and one-half (1-½) times the nurse's 10 regularbase rate of pay for all weekend hours worked. Code 3 RNs will also be eligible 11 for consecutive weekend premiums. This premium rate will not apply to nurses whose 12 weekend work results from a waiver or from a schedule change requested by a nurse 13 who has traded a scheduled weekend with another nurse.

Working 32 consecutive weekends will not be a condition of employment, except for part-time nurses who 33 are hired in positions requiring weekend work. 34

Weekend Schedules. The general pattern of scheduling shall be such that alf employees shall have alternate weekends off. Employees who miss more than two (2) scheduled weekend shifts per year (in the most recent 12 months) shall be required to work the same shift on the following weekend at the regular rate of pay (no premium, overtime or weekend differential) unless all staffing requirements are fully met for that weekend. For purposes of this requirement, the weekend shall be defined as the Friday evening shift through the Sunday evening shift. Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in progressive disciplinary action beginning with a verbal warning. Employees who are required to make up a weekend will not receive the additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour as outlined in Section D (4) of this Article. Employees who are on FMLA leave or vacation over a weekend will not have that counted against them.
