Vacated Positions. Notwithstanding Article 12, when an existing Educational Assistant or School Intervention Worker position is vacated after October 15, it shall be afforded to the senior permanent employees on complete lay-off who have the minimum required qualifications for the job (as per the classification specifications), and providing such employees have indicated in writing their willingness to accept such work assignment. When there are no employees on complete lay-off who have the minimum required qualifications for the job (as per the classification specifications), the vacancy may be filled at the discretion of the Employer on a temporary basis until the end of the school year. At the end of the school year, the vacancy will be posted in accordance with Article 12.

Vacated Positions. 1.16 The council will refill vacated positions by holding a special election for that position if more than six months remain in the member’s term. If less than six months remain, a person will be appointed to complete the term.
Vacated Positions. The SAC will refill vacated positions by holding a special election for that position or by appointing a person for a term not to exceed the AGM. Vacant positions must be refilled by individuals from the same membership group as the person who vacated the position.

  • New Positions A. Each newly created position shall be assigned by the Employer to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position within thirty (30) days after its creation. Before such assignment of each new position the Employer shall consult with the Union for the purpose of assigning the new position to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position. The following criteria shall be used in making this determination:

  • Positions Temporarily Vacant (a) The Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to ensure that the workloads of employees will not be unnecessarily increased as a result of positions temporarily vacant due to illness, vacation leave, in-service training, or any other reason.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration.

  • Notice of Changed Positions In the event that the Employer introduces significant changes to an existing job such that the job description is substantially altered, the Employer shall give written notice to the Union outlining the changes which have taken place, along with the Employer's proposal for a change in the wage rate, if any. Should the Union object to the proposed wage rate, such objection to the wage rate must be made in writing, within thirty (30) days of notification by the Employer. If no written objection is received by the Employer, then the wage rate shall be considered as agreed to. If the wage rate proposed by the Employer for the changed job is revised as a result of negotiation or arbitration, then the revised wage rate shall be effective from the date on which the changes were implemented.

  • New Position An approved position not reflected in the current year budget complement.

  • VACANCIES, TERM POSITIONS AND NEW POSITIONS 3001 Subject to section 3002 herein, the Employer agrees to post notices of vacant, term or new positions covered under this Agreement for at least seven (7) days to enable nurses presently in the employ of the Employer to apply for same.
