Vacant Positions. The parties shall also undertake a good-faith mutual effort to place displaced employees in comparable vacant positions within the bargaining unit prior to non-displaced employees, notwithstanding their level of seniority. Vacant positions are comparable if they are at the same or greater base rate of pay and are within .125 FTE of the employee’s position at the time of layoff. Employees who decline the offer of a comparable vacant position in their current or similar classification shall not be allowed to utilize the bumping process set forth in Section 6.2.4.
