Utilizing Sick or Vacation Leave. In the event that a member is unable to return to duty at the conclusion of the period of injury leave established in Section 29.1, and the claim is approved, the member shall be permitted to supplement payments related to the claim, in lieu of wages, by requesting to utilize available sick or vacation leave. Any such use of sick leave is subject to the requirements in Section 23.5 that all Authority earned paid leave must be exhausted before sick leave that is credited from another entity can be used. Any supplemental payment of sick or vacation leave under this section shall not result in total payments to the member (from payments in lieu of wages, and sick or vacation leave) in excess of the member’s regular wages. In the event the claim is not approved, and all appeals have been exhausted, the member may avail himself or herself of other available leave options.‌

  • ANNUAL LEAVE (VACATION) A.
