Utility Location. If underground sampling/testing is to be performed, a local utility locating service shall be contacted to make arrangements for all utilities to determine the location of underground utilities. In addition, OWNER shall notify ENGINEER of the presence and location of any underground utilities located on the OWNER’s property which are not the responsibility of private/public utilities. ENGINEER shall take reasonable precautions to avoid damaging underground utilities that are properly marked. The OWNER agrees to waive any claim against ENGINEER and will indemnify and hold ENGINEER harmless from any claim of liability, injury or loss caused by or allegedly caused by ENGINEER’s damaging of underground utilities that are not properly marked or are not called to ENGINEER’s attention prior to beginning the underground sampling/testing.

Utility Location. Subcontractor includes notification of all utilities, USA Dig and any other regulatory agencies having jurisdiction, prior to beginning excavation for the work for utility locations and assumes all responsibility for damage to said utilities if they occur as a result of the actions of this Subcontractor, his employees or any sub-subcontractors. Such notifications must be made with sufficient lead times so as not to delay the performance of Subcontractor’s work in accordance with the project schedule.
Utility Location. Consultant shall conduct field activities necessary to accurately identify, locate, and xxxx any CCWS water and/or sewer facilities or CCDOT fiber optic facilities, within the limits indicated on the locate request ticket and within the response time limit. Location of utilities shall be executed to attain the established statutory accuracy using marking protocol that conforms to generally accepted industry standards. Additional auxiliary marking, (e.g., offset references) shall be provided if deemed necessary by field conditions or by the nature of the proposed construction activity. Appropriate records of locate activities shall be developed and maintained to conform to the Public Service Commission reporting requirements and shall be supplemented when necessary with sketches, notes, diary entries, etc. to provide backup information for CCWS files. Field location information shall also be made available to the CCWS Engineering and Records Division to update or correct the County’s GIS database and water/sewer maps. The field equipment (such as location devices and laptop computers) will be provided by CCWS.
Utility Location. The Consultant shall: • Perform ground penetrating potholing to determine location and approximate depths of utilities in up to five (5) locations. • Excavate and expose utilities at the proposed pothole location utilizing vacuum excavation techniques. If the utility depths are greater than ten feet, utilization of backhoe may be necessary. • Perform field survey to identify the location of potholes. • Document location and existing depth of utilities at each pothole location.
