Use of Paid Leave Sample Clauses

Use of Paid Leave. Employees are required to use paid accrued sick leave before any 43 FMLA leave is taken as a result of a serious health condition. Employees are required to 44 use any paid accrued vacation before any FMLA leave is taken. Any such paid accrued 45 leave taken will be counted toward the allowable twelve (12) weeks of FMLA leave.
Use of Paid Leave. The employee on an approved leave of absence must exhaust all available paid leave, including compensatory time, sick leave (if available for the purpose of the employee’s leave), vacation leave, and personal holiday time before taking unpaid leave; provided that an employee granted a leave of absence because of the employee’s own disability may use up to thirty-two (32) hours of paid leave at a rate of eight (8) hours per month to remain eligible for paid health insurance.
Use of Paid Leave. Except as provided in Section 22.7 below, an employee on an approved leave must exhaust all available sick leave (if available for the purpose of the employee’s leave), vacation leave, and personal holiday time before taking unpaid leave; employees who choose to use compensatory time as part of a leave must use any such time prior to taking unpaid leave.
Use of Paid Leave. Sick or vacation leave may be used at the election of the employee during family and medical leave. Although employees may retain accrued, unused vacation and sick leave, such leave shall not accrue while on family and medical leave.
Use of Paid Leave. Except in cases of reduced FTE or shift change, all accrued annual leave will be paid out in a lump sum at the time of layoff. Accrued sick leave will be frozen at the time of layoff and can be accessed upon recall.
Use of Paid Leave. Nurses shall receive payment for all accrued paid leave at the time of layoff, unless the nurse requests, in writing, deferral of such payment in which case, a nurse on layoff status shall be paid accrued paid leave up to two (2) times during the twelve (12) month recall period. In any event, any remaining accrued leave shall be paid to a nurse at the end of the twelve (12) month recall period.

Use of Paid Leave. Family and medical leave is unpaid leave, except under the following circumstances.
Use of Paid Leave. An employee may use their accrued paid sick leave to attend to the birth, adoption, xxxxxx care, or home care of their child, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition after the employee has used all their accrued paid personal days under Section 13.2.2. An employee may use their paid sick or personal days to deal with the death of a family member.
