Use of Accrued. Leave During an Approved Period of Leave Without Pay.
Use of Accrued. Leave Prior to Leave without Pay Employees granted leave of absence without pay must use all compensatory time and applicable accrued leave prior to the beginning of the leave of absence without pay, except as provided in Article 28.4 or when voluntarily taken to reduce the need for mandatory layoffs or reductions.

Use of Accrued. Paid Leave During FML FML is unpaid unless an employee uses accrued paid leave (sick leave, vacation leave, or compensatory time off) during FML as provided in this section:
Use of Accrued compensatory time shall be scheduled with the approval of the supervisor on a first-come, first-served basis. The College reserves the right to deny any requested use of compensatory time in its sole discretion in order to insure the delivery of College services.
Use of Accrued. Paid Personal or Sick Days for B(3) or B(4) above: Eligible staff members requesting leave for reasons "B(3)" or "B(4)" above may also use accrued paid personal or sick leave. If requested by the eligible staff member and after all available accrued paid personal or sick days have been expended, the Board shall grant any necessary additional unpaid leave so that the total of available family and paid medical leave equals 12 weeks.

Use of Accrued compensatory time shall be scheduled with the approval of the supervisor on a first-come, first-served basis. The Chief or his/her designee reserves the right to deny any requested use of compensatory time if required in order to insure the delivery of department functions.
Use of Accrued sick leave during otherwise unpaid family medical leave does not extend the amount of leave allowed.
