University Service. Consistent with their principal duties, all Faculty Members have the right and responsibility to participate in University governance through election or appointment to governing bodies, committees, councils and in the work of outside academic and professional organizations related to their discipline and to the wider community.
University Service. IV.2.1.4.1 Members shall not be expected to serve on more than one (1) Senate or University committee at any one time. In addition, over any seven-year period, a member shall not be required to serve more than two (2) years on one (1) or more major University committee (i.e., Senate Budget, USC, COAP, Graduate Studies). At the request of the member, the Nominating Committee of Faculty Board will consider membership on Senate as equivalent to service on a major Senate or University committee, except in respect of the Chair of the Senate Budget Committee.
University Service. University service may include participation in the work of committees of the Libraries, the University, Faculties, and Departments; in the Association; and in other activities that contribute to the quality of the academic life of the University as described in the Evaluation Policy of the Libraries.
University Service. Service on the promotion and tenure committee is required of all tenured faculty members. Some additional administrative work at department, college or university level will be expected of all faculty members whose teaching load is less than 100% and whose contract extends more than three years into the future. Such duties will not be considered above normal unless the service includes chairing a particularly active committee or requires an unusual expenditure of time (such as extensive service in designing departmental publications, reaching and meeting prospective students or organizing special interest activities for students ). Service work may include coordination of subjects with high enrollments (above 100) or many sections (more than two).
University Service. Faculty are expected to play an active part in the life of the University and render such services as are reasonable and necessary. Such services include participation in departmental, college/school, and University committees, commencement, student activities, and convocations. Faculty may in some instances be asked to serve in administrative, or quasi-administrative capacities as department chairs, program coordinators or directors, Assistant to the College Xxxx, etc. Faculty may also be of assistance in fund raising and recruitment.
University Service. Librarians are expected to play an active part in the life of the University and render such services as are reasonable and necessary. Such services include participation in library and University committees, commencement, and student activities. In some instances, librarians may be asked to serve in administrative or quasi-administrative capacities as department heads. Librarians may also be of assistance in fund raising and recruitment.
University Service. A. Adjunct or part-time faculty who are no longer probationary will receive good faith consideration for re- appointment to courses offered by the University, which are to be taught by adjunct or part-time faculty, where they had previously taught the course, or the same course renamed and/or renumbered, or the same course with minimal revisions.
University Service. Each member is entitled and expected to share in a reasonable amount of the administrative responsibilities of the University, including representation on Faculty Council, and other administrative bodies necessitated by the University’s commitments. Those who have a responsibility to appoint or elect Members to such positions undertake to be fair and open in those processes.

University Service. University service is defined as individual effort provided to the University that may fall outside of the normal job responsibilities. Examples of University service are service on search committees outside of your home department or service on institutional committees, such as P&S Council. University service is considered paid time and therefore should be recorded. An employee must discuss such activities with their supervisor before agreeing to a commitment outside of his/her normal scope of work, and such activities should not interfere with an employee’s job performance or create an undue disruption to the department.
