UNIVERSITY CLOSURES. No employee shall suffer any loss of wages as a result of the eEmployer declaring a temporary closure for reasons other than economic. This guarantee is limited to five (5) days in any calendar year.
UNIVERSITY CLOSURES. In the event of an official University-wide shut-down because of an emergency, Service Officers who are not sent home or who are directed to report to work shall be paid at a rate of 1.5 times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked, plus the hours for their regularly scheduled shift. Service Officers who do not report to work or who report to work and are sent home shall be paid for their regularly scheduled shift for that day. This provision does not apply to sworn officers or dispatchers.
UNIVERSITY CLOSURES. Extreme Weather Emergencies resulting from, but not limited to, severe weather, environmental conditions, utility disruptions, road conditions, acts of God, acts of terrorism, may lead to a decision either to cancel classes, in which case all of normal activities of the University continue, or to close the University with the exception of essential services. University policy 7.6 outlines the procedures. Physical Resources provides an essential service. The Manager/Designate responsible for each department will determine what essential services are required to be maintained, and the staffing levels required during a University closure. When the University is closed, communication shall be conveyed as per University Policy 7.6, based on established protocol, including local radio stations, the University Web Page and University e-mail. The closure announcement will also communicate the reopening time. Those employees required to come to work while the University closure is in effect shall be contacted by their Manager/Designate. Employees who are already at work when the University is closed shall wait for direction from their Manager/Designate prior to leaving campus. In instances where the University is closed under this policy, employees will not suffer a loss of compensation from the loss of time incurred. Those who are required to work to maintain essential services during any period of closure shall be paid at the rate of double time. A leave with full compensation and benefits of up to one (1) day per fiscal year may be granted to an employee who is absent from work as a result of extreme weather conditions when the University is open.

  • University Any notice may be served upon the University by delivering it, in writing, to the University at the address set forth on the last page of this Agreement, by depositing it in a United States Postal Service deposit box with the postage fully prepaid and with the notice addressed to the University at the aforementioned address, or by sending a facsimile of it to the University facsimile number set forth on the last page of this Agreement.

  • School Closure The School shall make reasonable efforts to promptly notify the public, which may include notice to the Department of Education, of any circumstance requiring the closure of the School, including, but not limited to, a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, storm, tsunami, flood, or other weather-related event, other extraordinary emergency, or destruction of or damage to the School facility;

  • Emergency School Closing 24.1 If as determined by the Superintendent, circumstances of weather, energy crisis, power failure, lack of water or heat, work stoppage, epidemic or other civil or natural emergencies, including threats or acts of violence, make it impossible or unsafe to open the schools or to keep open a school or schools, then the Superintendent shall act in such emergency situations to preserve and protect the lives and property of pupils and staff personnel. Such absence(s) shall not result in loss of pay or accumulated leave days to the teacher.

  • School Closings In the event of any school closing, employees will report for duty only if so requested by an appropriate supervisor. Employees requested to report for duty will be compensated by receiving an alternative day off agreed upon with their supervisor. Employees not requested to report would be paid for up to five (5) days of school closing or such days will be made up if all other employees are required to make up such days.

The State shall continue to furnish foul weather gear and work clothing, such as aprons, smocks, shop coats, lab coats, coveralls and boots to employees furnished such clothing in the past. The State shall be responsible for continuing to provide laundering of work clothing where such service is being provided as of the effective date of this Agreement.
