This plan furthers the partnership for environmental protection in the State while also articulating our expectations for the state/federal relationship. A critical element of this partnership is the utilization of creative joint efforts to resolve programmatic obstacles that must be addressed in order to achieve our goals and to fulfill the needs of each agency. Such efforts are necessary and acknowledged to address the delivery of updated database systems in New Jersey (e.g., New Jersey Environmental Management System) and their interface with national databases. Although an outstanding item at the signing of this Agreement, a joint commitment exists to ensure that national databases continue receiving appropriate New Jersey data. This will be accomplished through direct data entry until another mutually acceptable solution to this electronic data reporting issue is devised. United States Environmental Protection Agency. USEPA is responsible for approving updated mobile source vehicle emission models; issuing guidance on conformity criteria and procedures; providing modeling and emission inventory development assistance to MDEQ, MDOT, and the MPOs; finding motor vehicle emission budgets adequate or inadequate; approving or disapproving SIP revisions (including TCMs); and reviewing and commenting on regional emissions analyses and conformity determinations for LRTPs and TIPs. When possible, USEPA will participate in development of and review and comment on drafts of air quality conformity analyses.

  • Environmental Protection The Respondent shall be in compliance with all applicable standards, orders, or regulations issued pursuant to the mandates of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. §7401 et seq.) and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended, (33 U.S.C. §1251 et seq.).

  • Cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection 1. The aims of cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection will be, but not limited to, as follows: (a) establishing bilateral cooperation relations in the forestry sector; (b) developing a training program and studies for sustainable management of forests; (c) improving the rehabilitation and sustainable management of forest with the aim of increasing carbon sinks and reduce the impact of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region; (d) cooperating on the execution of national projects, aimed at: improving the management of forest plantations for its transformation for industrial purposes and environmental protection; (e) elaborating studies on sustainable use of timber; (f) developing new technologies for the transformation and processing of timber and non-timber species; and (g) improving cooperation in agro-forestry technologies. 2. To achieve the objectives of the Article 149 (Objectives), the Parties may focus, as a means of cooperation and negotiations on concluding a bilateral agreement on forestry cooperation between the two Parties. Such collaboration will be as follows: (a) exchanges on science and technology as well as policies and laws relating the sustainable use of forest resources; (b) cooperation in training programs, internships, exchange of experts and projects advisory; (c) advice and technical assistance to public institutions and organizations of the Parties on sustainable use of forest resources and environmental protection; (d) facilitating forest policy dialogue and technical cooperation under the Network of Sustainable Forest Management and Forest Rehabilitation in Asia- Pacific Region, initiated at the 15th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting; (e) encouraging joint studies, working visits, exchange of experiences, among others; and (f) others activities mutually agreed.

  • National Environmental Policy Act All subrecipients must comply with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., and the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) Regulations (40 C.F.R. Parts 1500-1508) for Implementing the Procedural Provisions of NEPA, which requires Subrecipients to use all practicable means within their authority, and consistent with other essential considerations of national policy, to create and maintain conditions under which people and nature can exist in productive harmony and fulfill the social, economic, and other needs of present and future generations of Americans.

  • Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance employees, when actually climbing the cable stays of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge for inspection and/or repair, shall be compensated at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) an hour in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay. Employees shall be compensated for a minimum of one (1) hour of such work regardless of the length of the climbing assignment.

  • Federal Water Pollution Control Act 1. The contractor agrees to comply with all applicable standards, orders, or regulations issued pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended, 33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq.

  • Environmental Pollution Unless disposition of environmental pollution is specifically a part of this contract, PURCHASER shall immediately notify STATE of any hazardous substance(s) which PURCHASER discovers or encounters during performance of the operation. "Hazardous substance(s)" are those substances, materials, or wastes regulated by state or federal law. PURCHASER shall immediately cease operating in any particular area of the operations where a hazardous substance(s) has been discovered or encountered, if continued operations in such area would present a bona fide risk or danger to the health or well being of PURCHASER's or any subcontractor's work force. Upon being notified by PURCHASER of the presence of hazardous substance(s) on the areas of operations, STATE shall arrange for the proper disposition of such hazardous substance(s).

  • Call Protection If the Commitments are voluntarily terminated or reduced by the Borrower pursuant to Section 2.06(b) at any time on or prior to the first anniversary of the Effective Date, the Borrower shall on the date of any such termination or reduction pay to the Administrative Agent, for the ratable benefit of the Lenders, an amount equal to two percent (2%) of the aggregate principal amount of such termination or reduction.

  • Health, Safety and Environment 14.1 The Supplier Personnel must in all respects be or be deemed to be under the control and direction of the Supplier, and the Supplier will be responsible for complying (and ensuring that all Supplier Personnel comply) at all times with the provisions of all Company Procedures and all applicable health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation, including, without limitation, the Beach Energy Code of Conduct, which is available at the Company’s website xxxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx/xxx-xxxxxxxxx/.

  • Environmental Health and Safety i. Environment, Health and Safety Performance. Seller acknowledges and accepts full and sole responsibility to maintain an environment, health and safety management system ("EMS") appropriate for its business throughout the performance of this Contract. Buyer expects that Seller’s EMS shall promote health and safety, environmental stewardship, and pollution prevention by appropriate source reduction strategies. Seller shall convey the requirement of this clause to its suppliers. Seller shall not deliver goods that contain asbestos mineral fibers.

  • Legal Protection An employee charged with but not found guilty of a criminal or statutory offence because of acts done in the performance in good faith of his/her duties shall be indemnified by the Employer for the employee’s necessary and reasonable legal costs incurred in the defence of such charges.
