Union Stewards. The hospital Employer agrees to Union stewards to be Employees who are elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their pro- bationary period for the purpose of dealing with as Union business as provided under this Collective AgreementStewards. Union Stewards. For purposes of this Agreement, a grievance is defined as a difference arising between the parties relating to the interpretation, application, administration or alleged violation of the agreement including any question as to whether a matter arbitrable. Staff Central Bargaining Committee In future central bargaining between the Service Employees International Union and the participating Hospitals, an employee serving on the Union's Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of Pay pay and without loss of leave credits for central negotiating meetings Hos- pitalsattending Central Negotiating Meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee in direct negot- iations negotiations up to the point of arbitrationArbitration. Upon reference to arbitrationArbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for Purpose the purpose of arbitration hearingsattending Arbitration Hearings. It is understood and agreed that the leave of absence for attendance at such caucuses shall not be for more than one day exclusive of reasonable travel time for such scheduled negotiation session between the central negotiating committees.
