Common use of Union Stewards Clause in Contracts

Union Stewards. The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. A Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, assist in the presentation of any grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. This Hospital will a chief xxxxxxx and one xxxxxxx from each of the following departments in the Hospital: Housekeeping Dietary Nursing 1 representative from the remaining departments."

Union Stewards. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The It is understood that the number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locallyabsent from their workstations shall not exceed one (1) xxxxxxx per department at each work site at any one time. The "departments" within in GBHS for purposes of this Article shall be as set out in Article 12."

It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. If, in the performance of his grievance duties, a Union union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally ordinarily employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in The Hospital will recognize up to one (1) xxxxxxx per work area per campus, or up to two (2) stewards per work area per campus of greater than fifty (50) employees. Notwithstanding the above, it is understood that not more than one (1) xxxxxxx per work area shall be released to attend union business at a time. It is understood that this Article article shall preclude not include the full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versaunion positions identified in Article 15.02(c). Union Stewards. The Hospital agrees to will recognize Union stewards to six Stewards one of which will be elected or appointed the Chief Xxxxxxx, from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for following areas : Business Office, Communications, Materials Management Nursing, Departmental Secretaries Admitting, Urgent Care, Radiology Family Practice, Medical Secretaries and Xxxxxx Xxxx Health Records Health Centre If the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. A regular Xxxxxxx is unavailable, an employee may request the Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, other xxxxxxx to assist in the presentation of any her with her grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. The Union Hospital shall keep the Hospital notified be advised in writing of the names of the stewards and the members of the negotiating and grievance committees and shall be notified in writing of any changes made from time to time. To be eligible to be recognized as a committee member or a xxxxxxx, an employee must have completed her probationary period and have acquired seniority in the bargaining unit and be employed by the Hospital in a classification within the bargaining unit. The Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. Not more than three (3) members of the Grievance Com- mittee shall meet with Management at any one time. All members of the Grievance Committee shall be employees of the Hospital who have acquired seniority. The Hospital will recognize stewards from the following departments of the Hospital: Nursing Services General Services Each xxxxxxx shall be an employee of the Hospital who has acquired seniority. The Hospital agrees to permit stewards to wear an approved stewards' identification badge while on duty."

Full-time and Part-time The Hospital Employer agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital Employer notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital Employer and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital Employer in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. The Hospital Employer agrees to recognize six (6) Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. Hospital will recognize a chief xxxxxxx and one (1) xxxxxxx from each of the following departments of the Hospital: Dietary Nursing The parties may agree to have stewards either bargaining unit represent both full-time and part-time employees in their department as long as the total number of stewards does not exceed six inclusive of a Chief Xxxxxxx."

The Union agrees to one Chief Xxxxxxx with an alternate designated if necessary. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to responsibilitiesto perform for the Hospital Company and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital Company in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. Nothing in The Company notify the Union by fax or personal contact with a Business Agent within twenty four (24) hours of the suspension or discharge of a Xxxxxxx. It is agreed The Union acknowledges and agrees that Union stewards Stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital in connection with their employment and shall will not leave absent themselves from their regular duties without first obtaining permission to do so from their immediate supervisor on duty at the time. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The Union shall keep the Hospital Health Centre notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital Health Centre and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital Health Centre in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. The will provide the Chief Xxxxxxx with a maximum of seven and one-half (7.5) hours per month paid at their regular rate. The Chief Xxxxxxx can request such time either during work hours or outside working hours. Should it be scheduled outside of working hours, such time shall be paid at the straight time rate of pay. A maximum of fifteen (15) hours will be carried forward. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-vice versa. Not more than three (3) members of the Grievance Com- mittee shall meet with Management at any one time. The number Hospital will a xxxxxxx from each of the following areas of the Hospital: one Xxxxxxx from Nursing one xxxxxxx from Dietary one Xxxxxxx to represent Housekeeping, Maintenance and Stores one xxxxxxx to represent Ambulance Attendants. It is understood and agreed that the Chief Xxxxxxx shall function as a xxxxxxx in whichever of the above areas he is classified. Employees shall not be eligible to serve as stewards and or members of the areas which Grievance Committee unless they represent, are to be determined locallyhave been in the Hospital's continuous employ for not less than six months."

Union Stewards. The Hospital Employer agrees to recognize a total of seven (7) (including the Chief Xxxxxxx). Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. The Union will endeavor to have equal representative from each team (i.e. Team 1 and Team 2). A Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, assist in the presentation of any grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. The Union shall keep the Hospital Paramedic Service Chief (or designate) and the Employer's Human Resources Manager notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital Employer and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his their duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital Employer's premises in which he is they are not originally normally employed, he they shall report his their presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his their regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his their immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his their regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The Hospital agrees to recognise up to forty (40) shop stewards within the Service bargaining unit across all GBHS work sites. It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The It is understood that the number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locallyabsent from their workstations shall not exceed one (1) xxxxxxx per department at each work site at any one time. The "departments" within GBHS for purposes of this Article shall be as set out in Article 12."

The Employer will recognize a Union Administrative Committee consisting of eleven Stewards, one of which shall be the Chief Xxxxxxx, selected by the Union, not more than three of which committee members shall meet with management at any one time. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. The number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locally."

The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of for time spent during their regular scheduled working-hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally. ARTICLE
