UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 13 A. Deduction of Union Dues and Fair Share Service Fees
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. It shall be a condition of employment that all Employees covered by this Agreement shall become and remain members in the Union on the 31st day following the date this Article applies to their work-site or their em- ployment, whichever is later. The requirement of membership under this section is satisfied by the payment of the financial obligations of the Union’s initiation fee and periodic dues uniformly imposed. Upon receipt by the Employer of a letter from the Union’s Secretary-Trea- surer requesting an Employee’s discharge because he or she has not met the requirements of this Article, unless the Employer questions the propri- ety of doing so, he or she shall be discharged within 15 days of the letter if prior thereto he or she does not take proper steps to meet the require- ments. If the Employer questions the propriety of the discharge, the Em- ployer shall immediately submit the matter to the Arbitrator. If the Arbitra- tor determines that the Employee has not complied with the requirements of this Article, the Employee shall be discharged within 30 days after writ- ten notice of the determination has been given to the Employer. The Employer agrees to deduct monthly dues, initiation fees, agency fees, American Dream Fund or Political Action Fund contributions, from the wages of an employee, when authorized by the employee in writing in ac- cordance with applicable law. The Union will furnish to the Employer the necessary authorization forms. At the time of hire the Employer shall give to the new Employees a packet, provided by the Union, containing a Union membership application form, and a dues check-off authorization form only. The Employer will send to the Union offices those forms (or portions thereof) that the employee chooses to fill out and return to the Employer. If the Employer fails to deduct or remit to the Union the dues or other monies in accordance with this section by the twentieth (20th) day of the month, the Employer shall pay interest on such dues, initiation fees, or con- tributions at the rate of one-half of one percent per month beginning on the thirty-first (31st) day after Employer’s receipt of written notice of de- linquency.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 4.01 All employees covered by this Agreement shall become and remain members in good standing of the Union as a condition of employment. All current Bargaining Unit employees who have not done so and all new Bargaining Unit employees will be required to complete and sign an Application for Membership and Authorization for Check off of Dues an Initiation Fee on Form A230-86, supplied by the Union to the Company. The Local Union copy of this form will be forwarded to the Local Union Financial Secretary upon completion.

UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 7.01 All employees covered by this Agreement as a condition of employment shall become and remain members in good standing of the Union according to the Constitution and By-laws of the Union, provided that the Employer shall not be required to discharge an employee who has been expelled or suspended from membership in the Union, other than for engaging in unlawful activity against the Union. New employees covered by this Agreement shall become members in good standing in the Union within thirty (30) calendar days from the respective dates of the commencement of their employment.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 6.01 No Employee is required to join the Union as a condition of employment. However, each Employee, whether or not a member of the Union, shall pay the equivalent of Union dues to the Union.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF. 5.1 It shall be a condition of employment that all employees of the Company covered by this Agreement shall within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this Agreement, become and remain members of the Union or, in the alternative, render the Union a monthly sum equivalent to a percentage of the initiation fees and monthly dues based on the amount of the Union’s collective bargaining expenditures in relation to the Union’s total expenditures. Such sum shall be recognized as “Service Fee.”
