When an employee is elected as the Union's President or First Vice-president (Provincially) the Union will immediately following such advise the Employer of the name of the employee so elected. Leave of absence shall be granted from the employee's place of employment for the duration of the current term of office. The Union shall reimburse the Employer the amounts paid on behalf of the employee, including pay and benefits. Immediate family, for the purposes of this section, shall mean spouse, child, parent, . sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and grandparent of spouse. The Hospital, in its discretion, may extend such leave with or without pay. Furthermore, where an employee does not qualify under the above-noted conditions, the Hospital may, nonetheless, grant a paid bereavement leave.
