UNION DUES AND SECURITY. 5.01 The Hospital shall deduct an amount equivalent to regular monthly Union dues for the term of this Agreement according to the followingconditions:
(a) All employees covered by this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, have deducted from their pay each month an amount equivalent to the regular monthly Union dues.
(b) New employees shall have deductions made on the first regular deduction date following completion of thirty (30) calendar days of employment.
(c) Union dues will be deducted from each pay of all bargaining unit employees and the same shall be remitted by the Hospital to the Financial Secretary of the Union by the 15th day of the month following the month in which deductions were made.
(d) The Hospital agrees when forwarding Union dues to submit a list indicating the names, classifications and change of addresses of those employees for whom deductions were made, showing the amount deducted, as well as the names, addresses, classifications and dates of hire of those employees hired in the preceding month.
(e) The Hospital agrees to continue practice of supplying the Union with a listing of all employee addresses and telephone numbers on a one time per year basis.
5.02 Regular monthly Union dues referred to in this article, shall mean the regular monthly Union dues uniformly assessed all the members of the Union in accordance with its constitution and by-laws as certified to the Hospital in writing by the Union.
5.03 The Union shall indemnify and save the Hospital harmless with respect to all Union dues deducted and remitted.
5.04 T-4 slips issued annually to employees shall show deductions made for Union dues.
5.05 A new employee will have the opportunity to meet with a representative of the Union in the employ of the Hospital for a period of up to thirty (30) minutes for a single member. Should there be more than one (1) member; twenty
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. 4.1 Any Employee who is now a member of the Union and any Employee who hereafter becomes a member of the Union, shall maintain such membership.
4.2 The City shall deduct from every Employee, any dues levied in accordance with the Union Constitution and/or By-laws, and owing by the Employee to the Union.
4.3 All Employees in the bargaining unit shall pay the Union dues whether or not they are a member of the Union, and dues shall be deducted from the salary cheque of each Employee following commencement of employment with the City. Dues are to be deducted bi-weekly from thereon.
4.4 The Secretary-Treasurer of the Union shall notify the City as to the amount of such regular Union dues.
4.5 Deductions shall be made from each pay and shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union in the month following, accompanied by a duplicate list of the names of all Employees from whose wages the deductions have been made.
4.6 After ratification of a Collective Agreement, the City and the Union shall share the cost equally to print Collective Agreements for required management staff, current Employees, and new Employees as they are hired.
4.7 Upon commencing employment for new Employees, the Human Resources Department shall:
(a) advise that a Collective Agreement is in effect;
(b) provide a copy of the current Collective Agreement;
(c) identify this clause dealing with union dues and security.
4.8 The City shall provide the Union with the addresses and phone numbers of all Employees as required.

Any Employee who, as of the effective date of this Collective Agreement, is a member of the Union in good standing or who may become a member during the life of this Collective Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, continue such membership. Any new Employee hired under the terms of this Collective Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, make application for membership in the Union within thirty
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. The CITY will provide to the UNION a list of the classifications represented by AFSCME, the number of people in those classifications and their names. The CITY agrees to implement a process for changing UNION dues deductions based upon notification from UNION that dues have been changed by a majority vote process. The City recognizes the Union as an agency shop pursuant to Government Code Section 3502.5.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. The CITY will provide to the UNION a list of the classifications represented by the UNION, the number of people in those classifications and their names. The CITY agrees to implement a process for changing UNION dues deductions based upon notification from UNION that dues have been changed by a majority vote process. If a unit member desires to revoke, cancel or change their prior dues deduction authorization, the CITY shall direct the employee to the UNION. Any such dues deduction, revocation cancellation, and/or change shall be effective only when submitted by the UNION to the CITY. The CITY will implement any change to a bargaining unit employee’s payroll deductions during the first full pay period following notification of such change by the UNION. The UNION shall indemnify, defend and hold the CITY harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits, proceedings, or court orders, or any other liability that may arise out of or by reason of action taken or not taken by the CITY for the purpose of complying with any of the provisions of this dues deduction agreement.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY a) The Employer and the Union agree that as a condition of employment, all employees within the scope of the bargaining unit and all future hires within the scope of the bargaining unit shall become members of the Union or agency fee payers within thirty (30) days following the effective date of this Agreement or within thirty (30) days of hire.
b) All employees who become members of the Union shall remain members during the life of this Agreement.
c) Upon receiving a signed statement from the Union indicating that an employee has failed to comply with the conditions of Article 2(a), said employee shall be terminated within 30 working days after the receipt of notification unless the employee has complied with the conditions of Article 2(a).
d) Upon an employee's voluntary and written assignment, all dues for Union membership (or an agency fee in an amount equal to dues), as prescribed in the constitution and by– laws of the Union, shall be deducted in equal amounts from each payroll check of each member and remitted to the Union on a monthly basis. Such membership dues or agency fees shall be deducted from the employees' earnings in accordance with the Union schedule of rates.
e) The permission to retain dues or agency fees shall be granted through the signing of authorization cards on a form approved by the Union.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. Any employee who, as of the effective date of this Agreement, is a member of the Union in good standing or who may become a member during the life of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, continue such membership. All employees covered by this Agreement shall pay monies equal to the established dues of the Union. Any new employee hired under the terms of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, make application for membership in the Union within thirty (30) days. Notwithstanding any new employee who has not applied for membership in the Union, who chooses to opt out of membership of the Union, must notify the Union in writing within thirty (30) days after date of hire of intention to opt out; otherwise such employee will automatically become and remain a member of the Union. The Employer agrees to forward all Union dues deducted to the Union on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of the next month following the month for which dues have been deducted, together with a list of its members who had dues deducted in the previous month plus mailing address, job classification, status of employment (permanent, seasonal, temporary, or casual) and starting date.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. 4.01 Effective from the first day of employment, the Employer will deduct from the pay of all employees, an amount equal to the monthly dues as authorized by the Union. This sum shall be deducted from the last pay of the month and remitted to the NATIONAL SECRETARY- TREASURER of the Union prior to the end of the month in which the deductions were made, and accompanied by the names, amounts, addresses, and classifications of employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. The list shall also indicate whether an employee is full-time or part-time. A copy of this list will also be forwarded to the Secretary of the Local Union. Monthly, as they become known to the Employer, changes of address will be listed. The Union agrees to keep the Employer advised as to the name and address of the National Secretary-Treasurer in Ottawa, and the amount of the dues deduction to be made.
4.02 The Employer shall indicate on the employee’s T-4 income tax slips the amount of the union dues deducted from their pay during the tax year.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. Section 1. All employees of the bargaining unit may become and remain members in good standing of the Union. The Union, pursuant to its constitution and by-laws, will set the dues amount and schedule of payment. Neither the County or the Union will discriminate against any employee because of his or her membership or non-membership in the Union. Furthermore, the Employer shall not discriminate against, retaliate against, or take adverse employment action against any employee because of lawful membership activity or for their seeking Union assistance with regard to employment matters.
Section 2. Employees shall authorize the withholding of membership dues by signing an Authorization for Check-Off Dues form. Dues shall be deducted as provided in Section 4 of this Article 5.
Section 3. During the duration of this Agreement and in accordance with the terms of the form of authorization for check off of dues, hereafter set forth, the County agrees to deduct Union membership dues levied in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Capitol City Labor Program from the pay of each Employee who executes or has executed the “Authorization for Check-Off Dues” form.
Section 4. Check-Off Deductions under all properly executed Authorization for Check-Off Dues forms shall become effective at the time the application is signed by the Employee and shall be deducted commencing one month from date of hire, and the first pay of each month thereafter.
Section 5. Deductions for any calendar month shall be remitted to the Union with the list of those from whom dues have been deducted as soon as possible after the 15th day of each month.
Section 6. The Union agrees to defend, indemnify, and save the Employer harmless against any and all claims, lawsuits, or other forms of liability arising out of its deduction from an employee’s pay of Union dues or representation fees, or reliance on any list, notice, certification, or authorization furnished under this Article. The Union assumes full responsibility for the disposition of deductions so made once they have been sent to the Union.
UNION DUES AND SECURITY. 26.1 Any employee who is a member of the Union shall maintain such membership during the course of employment with the Board.
26.2 The Board shall deduct from every employee, any dues levied in accordance with the Union Constitution and/or By-laws and owed by the employee to the Union.
26.3 All employees shall pay the Union dues whether or not they are members of the Union, and dues shall be deducted from the pay cheque of each employee upon commencement of employment with the Board. Dues are to be deducted bi-weekly from there on.
26.4 The Secretary-Treasurer of the Union shall notify the City of Medicine Hat Payroll Department and the Board as to the amount of such regular Union dues.
26.5 Deductions shall be made from each pay cheque and shall be forwarded to the Secretary- Treasurer of the Union in the month following, accompanied by a list of the names of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. Addresses and phone numbers of employees will be made available upon request to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union for the purposes of communicating with the employees.
26.6 Upon commencing employment for new employees, the Librarian shall:
26.6.1 Advise that a collective agreement is in effect;
26.6.2 Provide a copy of the current collective agreement;
26.6.3 Provide the name of the Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s) in the Library;
26.6.4 Identify this Article dealing with union dues and security.
