Union Defense Contribution Clause Samples

The Union Defense Contribution clause outlines the obligation of a union to contribute to the legal defense costs incurred in connection with claims or lawsuits arising from union activities. Typically, this clause specifies the circumstances under which the union must provide financial support, such as when members or representatives are sued for actions taken in the course of their official duties. By clearly allocating responsibility for legal expenses, the clause ensures that individuals acting on behalf of the union are not personally burdened by defense costs, thereby protecting union representatives and promoting effective representation.
