Unfilled Positions. 4.8.1 Where positions are created at the merged school that have no direct equivalent in the merging schools, such position(s) shall be advertised nationally in the Education Gazette and existing teachers may apply for them. Selection shall be on merit with no automatic right to such positions. 4.8.2 Actual vacancies at the merged school that remain unfilled after the completion of the processes for reconfirmation and reassignment shall be advertised nationally in the Education Gazette. Unfilled Positions. Positions which are vacant due to the resignation or retirement of an Employee will not be considered a reduction in force as it is referred to in the rest of this Article.

Unfilled Positions. In the event there are no applicants for a posted position who meet the requirements of Article 9 B & C, the District shall: 1. first recall an employee from the appropriate list who meets the requirements of Article 9 B & C. 2. If there is no one on the recall list with these requirements, then the District shall fill the position(s) in one of the following ways (Article 9, Sections B & C shall apply where necessary): a. employ a new hire, or b. seek a full year or emergency permit or temporary or annual authorization from the state to fill the position, the district will first offer the opportunity to accept the position to an employee who has received a type A involuntary transfer notice, or c. seek a full year or emergency permit or temporary or annual authorization from the state to fill the position with a new hire, or d. assign the employee in the system who has the certification, license or approval as required by the State and meets the requirements as outlined in Sections B & C appropriate to the assignment.

Unfilled Positions. Unused department chair funds (e.g. if a school does not have any FTE in a listed area) may be used to augment the department chair discretionary fund, but not for any other purpose.

Unfilled Positions. If the vacancy is not filled as provided above, PPH may fill the position with outside applicants, except that if there are Registered Nurses on the Recall List, they shall have preference over outside applicants.

Unfilled Positions. The Employer shall respond in a timely manner to inquiries from Union Stewards or Representatives regarding the status of posted vacancies and unposted vacated positions.
