UNDERGROUND. On industrial projects, employees required to work underground shall receive prevailing rates plus ten percent (10%). This clause shall not apply to work performed within basements of buildings or open ditches.

UNDERGROUND. WORKINGS That in the underground workings for coal all shafts, inclines and tunnels shall be supported through accepted standard underground engineering/mining practices for coal, that all underground timbering placed in the mine shall be kept in good condition and at no time shall timbering be removed unless al of the coal in the lands have been removed; that at the termination of this lease all underground timberings shall become the property of the lessor without compensation therefor to the lessee; that all parts or workings, where the coal is not exhausted and for good reasons not being worked, will be kept free from water and waste material; and that the underground workings shall be protected against fire and flood and should creeps and squeezes occur they shall be checked without delay; to leave such solid blocks of coal as may be necessary to support the cover and protect the slopes, air-courses, manways, and hauling roads to permit the lessee to mine coal from any lands which he may own or become owner of in adjacent sections of land; and the lessee shall have the use of the slopes, air-courses, manways and hauling roads for the purpose of mining in the adjacent sections provided the lessee shall pay the royalty for the blocks of coal so left for support for protection, if it shall be agreed that the blocks of coal so left shall be more for the benefit of the lessee than to the State of Wyoming, and all coal so paid for may be removed subsequently during the term of this lease without subjecting the lessee to the payment of an additional royalty therefor.
UNDERGROUND. MINE PREMIUM - An employee who is required to work below ground, in an underground mine, will be paid at two (2) times their Basic Wage Rate, for all hours or part hours spent working below ground. When employees are working on their scheduled days of rest or on paid holidays, their rate of pay will be three (3) times the Basic Wage Rate, for all hours or part hours spent working below ground, in an underground mine. For clarity, this premium does not apply when an employee is working in an open pit mine, or underground in a manhole or similar setting.”
UNDERGROUND. 1. A Labourer hired to become a Cable Splicer, Substation Maintainer or Transformer Maintainer will progress from “Labourer - 1st 6 months to “Cable Splicer, Substation Maintainer, or Transformer Maintainer - 3rd Class” within the times shown, subject to the following qualifications and conditions:

UNDERGROUND. The installation of underground electrical systems when performed by regular qualified employees of the City shall be performed with not more than two (2) Helpers to every Journeyman Lineman. The connection, termination, and maintenance of underground systems shall be performed under applicable rules set forth in the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Code and the National Electrical Safety Code.
UNDERGROUND. It is agreed that employees performing work in tunnels and any other type of underground work other than open trenches shall receive fifty cents ($0.50) per hour in addition to the hourly rate of pay. LABOURER Employees working as a labourer perform general work duties such as cleanup and material moving. For clarity, no labourer shall perform any work considered part of the electrical trade.

UNDERGROUND. The County has the right to require Comcast to place wires and/or equipment underground, provided that the County imposes such requirement on all similarly situated entities (i.e. telephone, electric utilities, and other similar wired video services). All installations of wires and/or equipment by Comcast shall be underground in those areas of the County where the wires and/or equipment of similarly situated entities are underground; provided, however, that such underground locations are capable of accommodating Comcast’s facilities without technical degradation of the Cable System’s signal quality. If Comcast determines that such underground locations will result in technical degradation of the Cable System’s signal quality, it shall provide a written statement to the County providing evidence of such determination. Comcast shall not be required to construct, operate, or maintain underground any ground-mounted appurtenances such as Subscriber taps, line extenders, system passive devices, amplifiers, power supplies, or pedestals. Comcast shall comply with any generally applicable County ordinance(s) pertaining to underground wires and equipment.
UNDERGROUND. An employee who is a Journeyman qualified by training and knowledge of underground circuits, substations and apparatus to test, maintain and install duct line, cable, conduits, risers, Company-owned customer outdoor lighting equipment, circuit breakers, transformers and associated equipment. Performs basic metal working such as sheet metal layout and forming, threading of bolts and pipe, cutting and fitting of large pipes and culverts, layout and fitting of all types of structural shapes. Performs specialty work that is not available from outside suppliers, such as, construction of trailers, meter manifolds, meter sets and associated piping including gas pipelines, access gates, platforms, valve tools/keys, rebar fabrication, and special engineering designs. Performs welding on man-related equipment such as manlifts and derricks. Fabricates, repairs, sharpens, and tempers tools and equipment using a forge, anvil and trip hammer. Field work performed includes substation modification and erection, aluminum bus welding, gates and component fabrication, aerial welding and repair. Emergency repair and new construction of gas and electrical systems, as well as vehicle and equipment repair may also be required. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and layouts that are given as guidelines for the desired end product, as well as listening to a verbal description of a desired product or problem and come up with an acceptable solution. Must have a working knowledge of math to perform layouts as well as being informed as to the types of materials available from suppliers to do the various jobs. Must be knowledgeable in the use of electric welding and cutting, including metal inert gas (MIG), heliarc (TIG) welding, hard surfacing, and all aspects of acetylene welding including cutting. Must also have a working knowledge of plumbing, both pressure and non-pressure systems.
