Common use of Trial Period Clause in Contracts

Trial Period. When a vacancy is filled by an existing employee, the employee shall be confirmed in the new position after a period of three (3) calendar months. In the event the applicant proves unsatisfactory in the position during the trial period, the Employer may extend the period for a further three (3) months. If the employee is unable to perform the duties of the new job or if the employee wishes to return to her former position, she shall be returned to her former position and wage/salary rates without loss of seniority. Any other employee promoted or transferred because of rearrangement of positions shall be returned to her former position and wage or salary rate without loss of seniority. The trial period for part-time employees will be equal to three (3) months of full-time; but in any event will not exceed six (6) calendar months.
