Decision-Making Body/Process The purpose of the Agriculture COI is to identify areas of mutual interest, share priorities, implement projects and coordinate the efforts of participants. In the event that an issue or decision begins to polarize the participants, the issue shall be referred to the Steering Committee for resolution or determination of next steps. To the extent possible, decision-making by Ag COI members shall be through consensus (using the Xxxxxxx model of decision-making in Exhibit A and “Thumbs” Consensus Testing Procedure described below), with final decisions made by majority vote. Votes will be by organization (except where a member is an individual and is not representing an organization). A person can only vote once and cannot represent more than one organization. To vote on a given item(s), a member must sign the Pledge prior to voting, and must: Pledge to contribute a minimum of 10 hours per year in time, talent, or treasure; Attend a minimum of two (2) meetings, with one being a full Ag COI winter meeting; and Only vote when they feel informed about the topic. To the extent possible, the items identified above for vote will take place through online voting, to allow the broadest possible range of COI members to provide feedback on a decision. When discussion is needed, voting may take place during a full COI meeting. In general, votes received after the identified voting period will not be considered.
