Transit Subsidies. Upon request, the City shall provide a tax-free employer-paid Commuter Check subsidy of $20 per month that the employee may use for any Bay Area transit service or to pay for a qualified monthly vanpool fare. The City shall also provide employees the opportunity to set aside income on a pre-tax basis for a qualified transportation benefit through payroll deduction up to the maximum allowed by the Federal tax code.   • Subsidies 1. The rights and obligations of the Parties in respect of subsidies shall be governed by Articles VI and XVI of the GATT 1994, the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures and the WTO Agreement on Agriculture.
