Transfer to Higher Category. When an employee is transferred from one job classification to another, the seniority acquired with the store and the Company shall be retained, and new seniority in the new classification shall commence as of the time of transfer. Transfers shall not be made for the purpose of displacing another employee. Should a layoff or reduction in hours occur in his new job classification, he shall be permitted to reclaim the position he formerly vacated, or whatever equivalent job he is able to perform and to which he is entitled by his combined seniority in his old and new classification.
