The Use of Vacation Leave. The accrual of vacation leave shall be for the purpose of determining the amount of termination pay an employee with seniority is entitled to under this agreement. An employee shall not be entitled to take paid vacation leave as it accrues, but shall only be entitled to take paid vacation leave in an amount that has accrued as of January 1 of each fiscal year.

The Use of Vacation Leave is subject to the approval of the Department Head. The use of vacation leave is not permitted during the first six (6) months of employment, since no vacation leave accrues during this time.
