THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO a. Conduct the Program in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the University, the Facility and other associations affecting this Program.
b. Provide for the ongoing coordination of the Students' learning experiences at the Facility through his/her designee or an on-site faculty member.
c. Explain the philosophy and purposes of the Program to the Facility.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO. A. Ensure that programs and services are available to all persons without regard to ethnic group identification, creed or religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disabilities, marital status or age.
B. Orient students to internship program.
C. Provide guidance to students and collaborate with internship sites in establishing and meeting specific, measurable and attainable work-based learning objectives.
D. Acknowledge the Employer’s right to hire employees or interns or accept volunteers based on the Employer’s hiring criteria and availability of open positions.
X. Provide faculty internship advisor, who will make at least one visit, either in-person or virtually to the work site, when feasible.
F. Communicate with the work-site supervisor for the purpose of evaluating the student’s success in achieving work-based learning objectives.
G. Meet with students on an as-needed basis to ensure they understand the requirements for succeeding in the internship program.

Xxxxxxxxxxx that neither the University nor the Employer shall be responsible for any loss, injury or other damage to the person or property of any student or faculty member participating in the internship unless such loss, injury or damage results from the negligence or willful conduct of that party, its agents, officers or employees.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO. A. Provide an Internship Coordinator from the University’s Department of Counselor Education to liaise with Affiliate and provide objectives for the internship.
B. Upon acceptance of the student by Affiliate, facilitate student’s semester-long internship.
C. Inform students that Affiliate may require student to submit to a drug and alcohol screening and criminal background check at student’s expense as a condition of participation in the Program.
D. Provide student participants basic education in confidentiality of medical and private information. When Affiliate is a medical facility, University will also provide general education in blood borne pathogens and Basic Cardiac Life Support.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO. Recommend for placement in the on-site education program of the Intern Site only those students who have earned a satisfactory record and have met the minimum requirements established by the University.

c. Explain the philosophy and purposes of the Program to the Facility.
d. Furnish the Facility with the educational objectives, the required student curriculum and names of students receiving instruction.
e. Describe to the Facility the criteria for the selection of learning experiences for students.
f. Plan and evaluate cooperatively with the Facility students' learning experiences at the Facility.
g. Arrange cooperatively for the orientation of students to the Facility, and encourage in the students appropriate attitudes and relationships as members of the Facility in order to engender a cooperative spirit.
h. Accord the facility the right to suspend or terminate the affiliation of any student for reasons of unsatisfactory performance, a medical condition which renders the student unable to perform Program requirements, or other reasonable causes. Any action which may result in suspension or termination will not take effect until a University representative and a Facility representative have discussed the situation and have come to an agreement on the appropriate action to be taken. This does not limit the right of the Facility in its sole discretion on any specific occasion to deny the privilege of practice or participation in the Program at the Facility when in the considered opinion of the Facility, it is in the best interest of its clients to do so.
i. To the extent permitted by law, indemnify and hold the Facility harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, lawsuits, judgments and costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, that the Facility may become liable to pay or defend due to bodily injury or property damage caused by the negligent acts or omissions of the University or its employees, or the independent negligence of a University student, arising out of or in connection with the University=s participation in the Program at the Facility pursuant to this Agreement. This indemnification obligation shall not apply to any claim for which University would not be liable under the Maine Tort Claims Act (14 M.R.S.A. '8101, et seq.) if such claim were made directly against the University and University shall continue to enjoy all rights, claims, immunities and defenses available to it under law.

THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO a. provide an Internship Administrator who will direct the Internship program for the University and who will provide the Experience Provider with appropriate information prior to and in connection with each student Internship assignment, and will plan appropriate visits and/or consultation conferences;
b. establish and maintain on-going communication with the Experience Provider’s designated Internship Mentor on items pertinent to the University’s International Internship experience, such as pre-training, preparation or outlines, University policies, and relevant changes in Administrator assignments, if any;
c. make reasonable efforts to ensure that each student intern from the University is reasonably screened and scrutinized through selection as an appropriate intern for the Internship program;
d. make reasonable efforts to ensure that each student intern is aware of his/her responsibilities to abide by the terns of Section 1.e, and that each intern from the University shall enter into a separate written agreement between the University and the intern (“Student Internship Agreement”) in the form attached as Exhibit B; and
e. coordinate with the Experience Provider to ensure that the student’s expenses associated with housing, in-country transportation, some meals, and other arrangements.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO a. use best endeavours to ensure there are opportunities for the Student to meet the learning objectives of the workplace experience;
b. monitor and assess the Student’s progress;
c. provide constructive and supportive feedback to the Student;

e. act promptly to address any concerns about the safety and suitability of the workplace and well-being of the Student.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO a. Provide adequate office space; access to buildings, labs and facilities as necessary consistent with University policy.
b. Provide mentoring and training with senior faculty.
c. Provide adequate services to support execution of duties of the Position including mechanisms to process sponsored agreements and expenditure processing.
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO. (a) Assume overall responsibility for the planning and implementation of the educational component of each student’s training in accordance with the Program’s goals and objectives for the University;
(b) Ensure that each student assigned to Hospital is qualified. In addition, each student should meet the educational criteria required for participation in the University’s Program. University agrees to advise Hospital of any incidents that call into question in a material way, the clinical abilities, ethical standards or professional judgment of a student. University also agrees that upon request to furnish proof of the student’s academic credentials and a curriculum for the students assigned to Hospital which has been approved by the appropriate accrediting body pursuant to applicable law;
(c) Provide Hospital, with an annual proposed schedule of student assignments with the names of the students and their levels of academic training for each such student;
(d) Provide Hospital with a list of the assignments that the students may assume during their rotation at Hospital, as well as other documentation required beforehand by the Hospital program regarding matters related to rotation. Said list shall be provided by University’s Academic Clinical Coordinator (“ACC”);
(e) Assure continued compliance with the educational standard established by the appropriate accrediting organizations;
(f) Document and maintain the necessary records for each student’s rotations;
(g) Advise the students of their obligation to comply with all applicable University and Hospital rules, policies and regulations including but not limited to all health screening and background investigation requirements;
(h) Provide Hospital with a mutually acceptable report demonstrating that each student has satisfactorily completed Hospital’s background screen and health screen, including that each student has passed an annual physical examination, has completed annual tuberculin tests, and received all necessary immunizations, including tetanus, diphtheria and measles, mumps and rubella; and
(i) Provide and maintain adequate insurance coverage, including professional liability insurance in the amount of $1 million per occurrence/$3 million annually to cover the students for claims arising out of their activities while participating in the training program at Hospital. University shall furnish a Certificate of Insurance evidencing such insurance and shall provide Hospital with written notice of the ...
THE UNIVERSITY AGREES TO. 1. Make available to the Unit at least one and one half full-time University positions for administrative assistance; offices, laboratory and storage space; computer facilities, as are regularly made available to other University faculty; publication channels; museum facilities; library; equipment; utilities, including both local and long distance telephone services, in locations where Federal Telecommunications Services are not available; and account services for Cooperator contributions to the Unit. Monetary equivalence for services and facilities will be shown in reports of annual Cooperative Unit budgets. Contributions made by University under this section are for the base operations of the Unit, not necessarily for incremental work assigned to the Unit as Research Work Orders.
2. Recognize, as courtesy members of the University faculty, those research scientists of the Survey who are assigned to the Unit, provided that Unit members meet the standards and requirements of University for courtesy faculty. These personnel shall have full courtesy faculty rights and, and will be given professional rank appropriate to their qualifications. Survey personnel who are appointed as University courtesy faculty shall be given the ability to teach graduate level courses, providing such personnel meet policies and procedures regarding course assignments. Survey personnel shall be eligible for promotion in accordance with normal University standards and procedures but will not be tenured or salaried by the University.
3. Make available the means for the Unit to establish revolving accounts (accounts with no fiscal year limitations) with the University through which operating and research expenditures may be transacted. This service will be provided by the University without overhead charges on the annual contributions from the Commission and Survey (as defined in section VI.3).
4. For Research Work Orders under this Agreement, University will charge indirect costs at a reduced rate of 15%TDC. s federally negotiated indirect cost rate will be considered as part of the University contribution to the Unit. Research Work Orders issued under this agreement will be administered under Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (2 CFR 200). Direct costs allowable for Research Work Orders under this agreement are subject to the most recent Rate Agreement in place for federal agencies.
