Common use of Termination and Renewal Clause in Contracts

Termination and Renewal. 23.01 This Agreement shall become effective as of the 10th day of October, 2006 and shall continue in effect until the 9th day of October, 2011, at which time it shall be automatically renewed unless either party gives notice to the other, not more than ninety (90) days prior to the expiry date, of its desire to enter into negotiations for the revisions or renewal of all or any part of this Agreement, and both parties shall thereupon enter into negotiations in good faith and make every reasonable effort to secure a renewal. In the event that negotiations for the renewal of this Agreement continue past the expiry date, the provisions of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect until such renewal is affected or until the conciliation procedures under the Ontario Labour Relations Act have been exhausted.
