Common use of Terminal Illness Clause in Contracts

Terminal Illness. The insurer will cover the actual incurred medical cost of the palliative and hospice care. On diagnosis of a terminal illness, costs are covered for any in-patient, day-patient or out-patient treatment given on the advice of a medical practitioner or specialist for the purpose of offering temporary relief of symptoms. Charges for hospital or hospice accommodation, nursing care by a qualified nurse and prescribed drugs and dressings are covered. The maximum benefits should be mutually agreed between the policyholder and the insurer and stipulated in the insurance contract.
