TEMPORARY PLACEMENT. Employees who have suffered a temporary work- related injury or illness, and who have submitted a claim to the WSIB, and who are medically fit to perform work may be placed as follows: In the employee’s existing job, if the employee is medically fit to perform the job duties. In the employee’s existing job, with modified duties, if the employee is medically fit to perform the job as modified, and the modifications permit the performance of the essential duties of the job. In a classification within either Bargaining Unit with approval of the Accommodation Committee. The wage of the employee who is placed under this program will be protected at the pre-injury/illness level or the minimum of the new classification, whichever is greater, plus any future negotiated increases for that classification. TEMPORARY PLACEMENT. When any employee applies for and receives a temporary posting which takes him,/her out of his/her regular department, upon returning to his/her regular department, following the expiration of his/her temporary posting, he/she shall be placed in an available position consistent with his/her seniority and qualifications. Nevertheless, such employee must, if no other available position exists at the time of his/her return, be placed in the Labourer II position.
