Temporary Nurses i) A temporary Nurse may be hired for a specific term not to exceed eighteen (18) months, or to replace a Nurse who will be on an approved leave of absence, absence due to workplace injury, long-term disability, or to perform a special non-recurring task or project.

Temporary Nurses. Temporary Nurses are employed by the Hospital to cover regular positions for a period not to exceed six (6) months. Temporary Nurses are entitled to holiday pay (for working a holiday), but to no other employee benefits. Temporary Nurses are not entitled to participate in the benefit plans set for the in Article IX, unless offering participation in a plan is required by law.
Temporary Nurses. 26 10.9.1 The parties agree that full- and part-time registered nursing staff 27 employed by the Hospital are most likely to provide the desirable level of nursing 28 care, to provide care to patients at an economical cost and to provide the 29 necessary balance in the assignment of shifts. It is understood that hospital 30 employed "Float" and "Casual" nurses are also hospital nursing staff. Temporary Nurses shall not be given unit or shift assignment preference over regular staff except where no other reasonable alternative is available to provide needed nursing coverage. The use of temporary Nurses and on‐call Nurses will be recognized by the parties as a legitimate subject for discussion and/or study through the already established labor‐ management meeting process between the parties set forth in Section 25.3 of this Agreement

Temporary Nurses. The term “temporary nurse” shall refer only to a nurse who at the time of her/his hire is informed that her/his employment will not be permanent. A nurse hired on a temporary basis to replace a nurse(s) on a leave(s) of absence or to work under a research contract for a defined period may be employed on a temporary basis for the period of the leave(s) or research contract, respectively, in both cases without regard to the duration of the period of temporary employment. While the Hospital is not restricted in the other reasons for which it may hire temporary nurses, the Hospital will not employ any such nurse in a temporary capacity for more than six (6) months.
