Temporary Member. A member employed to fill a position designated as temporary or experimental or to fill a vacancy which occurs after the first student attendance day because of unanticipated enrollment or because of death, disability, retirement, resignation, contract nonextension or dismissal of a contract or probationary member. The district may, at its discretion, offer, and any part-time NEA licensed member may agree, to increase his/her FTE to fill a temporary position as defined in ORS 342.815(10). If an additional temporary part-time contract is then offered by the District, the member may agree in writing, at the time, the additional temporary contract is offered, that he/she has no rights to that additional FTE beyond the period of the temporary contract. District communication with the member shall clearly explain the temporary nature of the additional part-time contract, which shall expire at the end of the period of the temporary contract or sooner should the district lack sufficient funds, students, etc. to continue the contract for the initial contract duration. The District shall notify the Association at the time of the offer. If the member does not agree to the temporary status for the portion of the increased FTE, the District may rescind its offer. A permanent part-time contracted member who accepts a temporary full-time assignment for two consecutive years shall become a full time contracted member.

Temporary Member. The words “temporary member” when used in Parts I and II of this Agreement shall mean a member as defined in Part I of this Agreement hired for an ascertainable period of time on the understanding that their employment will not be permanent.

  • Temporary Roads As necessary to attain stabilization of roadbed and fill slopes of Temporary Roads, Purchaser shall employ such measures as out- sloping, drainage dips, and water-spreading ditches. After a Temporary Road has served Purchaser’s pur- pose, Purchaser shall give notice to Forest Service and shall remove bridges and culverts, eliminate ditches, out- slope roadbed, remove ruts and berms, effectively block the road to normal vehicular traffic where feasible under existing terrain conditions, and build cross ditches and water bars, as staked or otherwise marked on the ground by Forest Service. When bridges and culverts are re- moved, associated fills shall also be removed to the ex- tent necessary to permit normal maximum flow of water.

  • Temporary Position A temporary position may be established by the employer to provide alternative work for an employee pending an expected suitable vacancy. If the vacancy does not eventuate then the surplus staff provisions will apply.

  • Temporary Vacancy A vacancy in a position caused by the regularly assigned occupant being absent from duty (including on vacation but excluding pre-retirement vacation) or temporarily assigned to other duties.
