Temporary Job Postings. A vacancy which occurs for more than six (6) weeks will be posted stating that the position is limited and shall indicate the estimated duration of the limited job. In any event, the limited job shall not exceed six (6) months. Upon termination of a limited job, the employee filling the vacancy shall be returned to the classification and job location in which he/she last worked. In the event that a part-time employee is the successful applicant, the said employee shall retain his/her part-time status during the limited full-time period. An employee filling a temporary vacancy of six (6) weeks or longer duration shall not bid on any other temporary posting until the end of his/her temporary position.

The closing date provided for in clause 19.02(a)(viii) shall not be less than one (1) week from the date of issue of the Job Posting.

When the Temporary bid ends the employee will be returned to their former classification and shift, providing their seniority makes available a position in that classification. In the case of a limited term funding/assignments, long-term illness or a leave which may extend beyond one (1) year, the Employer shall consult with the Union prior to approving the leave and the parties shall agree to an extension of the temporary posting provisions.
