Common use of Telephone Services Clause in Contracts

Telephone Services. A telephone service Merchant must not accept payment for a telephone call when the Card number is either entered via touchtone key pad or provided to an operator. This prohibition excludes the following: (i) Telephone Service Transactions conducted at an Unattended Cardholder-Activated Terminal (ii) Transactions for which the Issuer has a contract with the carrier (iii) Transactions involving telephone services that have been explicitly approved by Visa and provide appropriate risk controls (iv) Telephone orders for goods and services; and (v) Transactions provided by Inbound Teleservices Merchants, as specified in the Visa Merchant Data Standards Manual
